Sinkhole opens on Upper West Side street

Residents say they've been out of their homes all day Tuesday after a sinkhole formed on their Upper West Side street. CBS2's Jenna DeAngelis reports.

Sinkholes aren't that common in New York. They usually happen when a water main starts leaking and erodes the soil under the street above. They are much more common in other parts of the country like Florida and Texas.

This is what happens when your government passes a 1.2 trillion dollar infrastructure bill with only 5% of the funds being allocated towards roads and bridges.
