Day 4: "The Railway Train" by Emily Dickinson

This lesson asks students to look specifically at the fourth stanza. After the previous days' analysis of figurative and connotative meanings, students will be more adept at analyzing the language used in the fourth stanza, as well as the rhythm used in order to understand the author's intended meaning. Understandings from this lesson will prepare students to write on the final day, by encouraging them to think more deeply about the author's message and the ways in which she conveys it.
