Is the New Minecraft Launcher worth getting?

In this video we will be exploring the new Minecraft launcher, and seeing if it is worth getting or not.
And also how to get it as well. And also seeing the differences between the old, and new launcher.

if you want to play beta and alpha versions you have to change a setting in the settings menu called: historic versions of minecraft

Just in case you didn't know: the new launcher is trash. When I first installed it couldn't open itself reliably, launch minecraft reliably or install bedrock at all. For a while it didn't have access to the other launchers saves. (since fixed)
It now starts and launches minecraft successfully more often but clearly struggles to do so, often taking far longer than it should. It still doesn't install bedrock.
Mojang are very slowly fixing it, but I expect that will take a while. (that new java bug probably didn't help)

Despite you explaining the difference between microsofts launcher and mojangs launcher of minecraft, I'm still confused.

It's nice that they added bedrock to the launcher, but what really gets me irritated is that if you want it, you have to get the new launcher. There's nothing that the UWP launcher does special that the normal one can't. I get why they made the UWP launcher for game pass, but why limit that simple but nice feature to it? There's no benefit for Microsoft, and it's just annoying for the users.

I don't want to update the launcher, honestly, but the old launcher tells me that 1.18.1 is the latest release, and absolutely refuses to give me any options. I can't force update. Am I the only one with this problem? wtf do I do

ok so, is everything the same between both launchers except the ability to play older versions and also choose which version you want to play? Because i want to be able to choose if i want to play Java or Bedrock, but i don't want anything else to change, and i want to be able to keep all my mods, and choose which version of minecraft i wanna play (as in Java or Bedrock)

the ONLY good thing about this launcher and I mean, ONLY, is that

I only paid for java edition on a new Microsoft account (because they only let you change your Xbox Gamertag only once) and downloaded the old launcher in my dad's laptop (we were not home at the time of purchase)

when I got home, I was still logged into the Microsoft store with my old account on my PC, so I logged into the mc website with the new Microsoft account then downloaded the new launcher and it was bugging me with the "switch Microsoft store account" so I switched,

also, I owned the bedrock edition trial on the old Microsoft account and was an Xbox insider of some games (not Minecraft)

and that luck, whenever I tried to switch to the new account, just right after switching, my Microsoft store began to update to the new Windows 11 design right after, also the bedrock trial was still installed before the incident, soo after a few days I launched the bedrock edition from the launcher (the trial version), and voila! I could access skins and creative and marketplace, then I rushed to the Microsoft Store, and surprisingly a bedrock edition license was given to my account in the library due to a glitch

and that's how folks, you get both Minecraft java and bedrock by only paying for java

wait so, would you or would you not recommend to install the new version? currently im playing on an old version (for windows 7) and its telling me to upgrade, i saw in the reviews of the game it said to stick to the old version, i dont really know if i should install the new version or not. and even if i try to install it, the thing keeps saying error even when i try reloading it and re-opening the microsoft appstore. I am on an Windows 11 currently but it continues to say that there's an error. im so confused.

Guys just some info. I recommend you all migrate your account to microsoft, if you do not, your minecraft account will eventually stop working. Oh and one more thing, please check if your microsoft account is set to be older than 18 years old, i have heard some people had trouble migrating when their account was under 18. You can change the age if you just search microsoft account.
