Paul Whelan should get all of the attention he needs regardless of how long it takes. 90 days may not be enough. I hope it is I hope it takes less but I wouldn't give him a time limit. He is an American Marine. He is ours to care for.

‘As well as can be expected’ is not optimistic IMO. Heard it said too many times in hospital.

If you go to Russia for pleasure you should plan on staying for pain. I am very glad Mr. Whelan is home but I am sick of people going to a country where many people are held hostage. Was that holiday really worth destroying every life around you as well as your own? Because of these folk dangerous people are being released back to wreck havoc on the world. ENOUGH of everything being about what you want...regardless of the consequences.

And Trump didn’t even say welcome home

I’m super happy that he’s home, though I may not know him at all. I really thought our government had completely forgotten and metaphorically washed their hands of the ordeal. Welcome home man. I wish I could thank the negotiators who secured his release, kudos to them.

Just for a moment we need to note that there are still places in this world where this kind of thing happens. Quite incredible that Trump should want to be friends with one of the few people in the world who would do this to someone. Disgraceful display by Trump when he commended Putin for doing the deal. He should have kept his mouth shut once again. All Putin needs to know is that Karma is coming for him.

Are we allowed to have an opinion on this, or will BlueTube hand out 24 hour suspensions for hayte speech to anyone who has an opinion about prisoner exchanges?

CNN anchors like Dana Bash do ask some rather ridiculous weird questions and make similar comments.

What did she mean by the black female hostage's release being due to "publicity"?

Isn't every release often based on that?

Silly remark!
