As a Chicago native, I can say Portillos has let this city down. We used to flock to this place. Since going corporate they’ve taken a nose dive in quality. I find better dogs at the neighborhood hot dog shops. Much better. Also much better beefs. Get it together Portillos

I spent 6 months working at a Chicago hospital providing COVID support in 2020. I went up there ready to try the pizza. I came back home to Texas with a forever memory of Vienna beef hot dogs and the Polish from Portillos. Also the Brats freshly grilled at Mario's grocery downtown. Chicago has my respect for a first class food city.

fuck yeah dude. I've been to Chicago once in my life, something like 15 years ago, and I ate a Maxwell Polish at Portillo's. and as soon as you showed it to the camera I knew it, said it out loud, "Maxwell." soooo good

Being from chicago, im spoiled with italian beef, but that is a spot on rating for portillos imo. Its not even close to being the best italian beef, but it doesnt suck at all. My average rating for an italian beef is like an 8.8.
There are a couple brands of italian beef that i can get in the freezer section of grocery stores near me that top portillos. Just gotta heat up the meat. If u want cheese bake or broil the sandwich with some mozz on it.

I live in Chicago, we have Portillo's everywhere. I get hot dogs from all kinds of places, but Portillo's has in my opinion the best hot dogs I've had here. Plus their fries are incredible.

You gotta get the Chicago jumbo char dog. They use a larger hot dog and they put it on the flattop to give it an amazing flavor! Takes it from 6.7 to 8.5 in my opinion!

Appreciate you for coming to my hometown and eating Portillos. Chicago Style dogs are like a delicacy to me and the Italian beef I get all the time! Next time get it dipped but overall I appreciate your honesty and willingness to try our food 💪🏾💯

Yes, I love Chicago dogs. As an adult, I need all the vegetables I can get on the hotdog. It balances out the fact I’m eating mystery meat.

Chicago native now living in SoCal. I go to Portillos in Bueno Park a couple times a year. You have to get the beef and sausage combo sandwich with au jus and cheese on the side. Maxwell Polish sausage at portillo's isn't great, not even close to Jim's original in Chicago but it does fix the craving.
