Just in case anyone is confused, the example set out just explains the capabilities of object inheritance. With the child/sub class you don't need to override and call each super method. You get those automatically without needing to override.

do you need to copy the method into the class like that? or can you have an object and call the isItOnEarth method onto that object?

how do you extend objects from other classes? like if you wanted to extend the dog object to a happy dog object. You want to keep the same attributes of dog (breed and name) but you want to add them along with a string happy to make a new object called happyDog in a new class called emotion. How would I do this? your example really only covers methods and not bringing in objects so that you can use them with other compilers.
