Don't Want to Wait Years For A King of Tone? Well... | Kasleder FX Toxic Twins | Gear Corner

Since I first played a King of Tone pedal I was looking for an alternative that's easier to find and I can recommend to other players too. Today I'm testing the Kasleder Toxic Twins, my insider's tip and even though it does the KoT thing really good, it's not at all a clone. And that's something I always appreciate. Enjoy Gear Corner!

** Why the "Includes paid promotion" message? **
According to german laws everyone has to mark their videos as advertisements as soon as there's a single "subject relevant" product, tag or link in it. Even if you didn't get paid for making that video. Sounds confusing and it really doesn't help the viewer to see which is a paid review and which isn't.
--- The line of truth: Is this actually a paid review? Yes, I received a payment to check out the pedal. Brands never get to see the video before it's released and I always stick to my honest opinion, whether it's a paid video or not. (I update this line for every video).

I have been on the KOT waiting list since April of 2018. 3 years and 5 months. Funny thing is two weeks ago I just sold all of my pedals, amps and bought a helix and powercab. But I will still likely order my KOT when my name pops up and just hang it on the wall with the word patience framed below it.

Thanks for this great video Kris. Had to grab one then !
I have the Kot, the Duellist, the Protein and the Gladio.
This Toxic Twins is really a great surprise for me. Very pleasant to play, huge headroom, very responsive, able to clean as well as the Gladio! More "body" then the Protein.
Compare to the Duellist, it is an other taste, I realy like those two. I think the left side is more "transparent" on the Toxic Twins then on the Duellist or the Protein but I realy like the "graou" on the Duellist when both sides are on.
I have two boards. The Kot is on the big one and the Toxic Twins is on the small one...

I'm playing only digital with neural dsp plugins on my pc through an audio interface, but I still watch your gear corner videos just to see and hear you playing, always a pleasure. Keep up your great attitude and positivity. Have a nice day!

Hi Kris. I really love your demo ❤
You play different kinds of stuff, chords, arpegios, solos, with dynamic, and on different styles. In addition it is always pleasant to hear. I cannot wait more your album. Thanks for the quality of your work. And for you kindness.

Let‘s take a minute to appreciate the impeccable playing in this video!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I personally don‘t care for the KOT, tried loving it for 6 months, but ended up selling it. The Toxic Twins sound interesting. I wonder whether the left side will get me in Clapton Beano Album Bluesbreaker territory!?!? @kris

Really love the sound of this thing! Hope it becomes easier to get in the US. If not, I might have to just order it from Kasleder. Great video as always Kris!

Really cool pedal, looks like the build quality is spot on too. I love the sound of it, sounds better than any king of tone or tube screamer out there.

I can't recommend the Toxic Twins enough.
I'm not concerned with is it better than Kot, Protein etc because that's all just personal taste. What I've found is that the Toxic Twins means I don't need a tube amp/cab anymore with the left side of this pedal on. I can use my home/practice setup with my Humboldt/DSM Simplifier DLX in clean Fender mode and get sweet tube chimey edge of breakup to crunch tones using the left side of the TT and route it straight to FoH using the Simplifier's XLR outputs. Boosting the left side with the right side gives classic rocks tones or creamy mid-boost for solos or punching through a band mix.
The left side of the TT is worth the price of the pedal on its own. It's a fantastic always on pedal but the right side makes it the most useful drive pedal I've played.
