I'm just gonna toss in my two cents.
Minish Cap in my eyes is a graphical showcase more than anything. It's a good game that showed a natural progression to the prior portable games. It falls short with its difficulty and length, big time, but I feel the music is really good and the size shift mechanic is once again another gimmick (not in a bad way) in the same vein of the dark world, time traveling, season changing that came before it.

Again, it's a graphical showcase. There has not been a portable Zelda that looked as clean as this one before or since. It's like an SNES game on crack. Only Four Swords Adventures on the cube looked this vibrant and clean.

I agree the story is kinda silly, but I liked Ezlo as a companion and the kinstone mechanic, while annoying towards the end, was fun for me when I was younger and more of a completion freak.

I won't put it in the lower tiers, but I probably wouldn't put it past midtier either.

Great video as always! I always really enjoyed this game. It is a fun romp that can be completed fairly quickly. If I was a completionist and felt the need to get all of the heart pieces, I would consider this game very mediocre too. But as someone who doesn’t have that need, the kinstones were always just a fun little side quest that I would do if I had the right ones. Regardless, your criticisms are still completely valid and I understand where you are coming from. I think the thing that you were “missing” that I am actually kinda surprised you didn’t mention was this game’s overall vibe and atmosphere. The music is always so happy and it gives the game charm akin to The Wind Waker. I think that is one of the main reasons it resonated with a lot of people, including myself. I’m not gonna say it is a masterpiece, but I still vastly prefer it over A Link to the Past and the DS Zeldas.

I just 100% completed Minish Cap 👍

Got all the kinestone fusions and received the tingle trophy, all heart pieces, all items, bottles, upgrades, etc…

Minish Cap isn’t my favorite in the series but it has decent dungeons, bosses, and the music is pretty good. The kinestones, figurines, and navigating the structure of the overworld felt like a chore. Vaati also isn’t all that interesting.

Finally somebody says mc is mediocre which got ruined by kinstone and shells.

Honestly that swamp and air temple were amazing dungeons and roc cape was fun, But i absolutely hate temple of droplets because of ice physics and that octorock boss was horrible.

Also you didn't mention graveyard kinstones where you need to fuse with ghosts but if you forget about it you need to done that forest maze again.

It is weird mc and dawn of sorrow were my first game i have ever played but now i absolutely despise them because of their horrible gimmicks.

I agree, I was never able to see why so many fans cherish MC, to me it's mediocre at best.
