This is just a variation. Why are some people so upset? Marty did not do this to impress entitled youtube viewers who want a note for note perfect rendition every single time. I have heard the original solo thousands of times. There is nothing wrong with some improvised variation, especially from the creator of the solo. This is nice.

He created it. It's his to spin around, twist, contort, or do whatever else he feels like with it. Nobody else gets to say this sucks or that he can't remember it. For the love of Dog, the song was published 31 years ago. Playing with one's own toy that's set the world alight has to be one of the greatest experiences a musician can experience!

You can tell how he's probably very tired of playing the same solo, that's why he adds some slight variations here and there, i mean, he's only human, is that or simply not playin the damn solo 😂

Playing alone is not the same thing as playing with a band. It makes sense to be more poetic when you're playing alone and insert pauses and longer bends. It was his solo after all and people came to see him, not the band.

Before I heard him play with Megadeth, I read an interview that said he was influenced by Michael Schenker...
... and it wasn't until this video that I believed him.

I love players that can grab a note and wring tone from it regardless of how fast you play.
