This is my grandmother’s recipe! I mean, she didn’t create this recipe, she made these pies when I was a kid! We all LOVED this pie recipe! Thank you for sharing this! I thought we have lost the recipe after my Gma passed.

You can literally put all the ingredients except the butter and vanilla in the pot at the same time and cook on medium heat until thickened. No need to temper the eggs. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla and then pour into the crust. The end result is exactly the same. Learned how to make chocolate pies from my grandmother.

Your pie crust recipe is the only one that comes out good for me. If I freeze it ahead, does it need to thaw any before blind baking?

My gran made this pie all the time when I was little. She would add a teaspoon or two of powdered sugar to the crust, it was so good! I make it now when I’m really missing her (needless to say I make it a lot). ❤

This is my son's fave pie. Also, I need to tell you, I have a scale I didn't use much, but decided to use the other day. So much more convenient. Instead of a bunch of measuring cups to clean, I have the measuring bowl to clean! And of course, the improved accuracy.

The museum wax tip is incredible! I usually use a tea towel and it helps to a degree, but I'm definitely getting some of the wax.

My littlest will love this pie!

Yum! My mom made delicious chocolate pie and I haven't had any in quite a long time. I never have made it but am inspired to make some! Sometimes she topped hers with meringue and sometimes not.

I trust Preppy Kitchen, after it saved my day with its mashed potato recipe. I still make it just like he instructed. Who knew draining water from boiled potatoes could result in such creamier mashed potato! Such an insight it was. I trust your recipes and will try new one soon.

John I can't wait to try this. I made your buttermilk biscuits yesterday and I goofed. I put 1 1/2 sticks of butter, not 1 1/2 cups as the recipe called for. But they came out great. Everyone loved them. My mistake recipe is a keeper. Thanks
