About the issue with the distorted sounds, it's about line levels. These things are mainly made for guitars. I noticed, too that some pedals react like this when their input is receiving higher volumes. Just turning down the synth volume a bit does the trick for me. Well most of the time ;)

Those pedals have a beautiful "Catch Up Knob Function" which should protect you against accidentally changing wrong level knobs.

I really love when I'm watching a delay review and the first thing that is played is a pad sound.. haha. So many do this. I don't get it. I wanna hear how the repeats are sounding. However, I got my satisfaction later on :) No offense man! Great vid, thanks! This is definitely a huge sounding thing!

I never really internalized the concept of a tapped delay. Probably would help explain why the delay sounds a bit like a reverb sometimes, too.
