Description:
Current diagnostic procedures for MCI and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) include cognitive testing, patient and caregiver interviews, and standard imaging. The diagnosis of AD is rapidly evolving from one of exclusion to one of inclusion by employing established biomarkers – both in cerebrospinal fluid and amyloid or tau PET tracers – to confirm diagnosis and amyloid and tau burden. This activity provides expert insight into optimal current diagnostic procedures and the evolving future of MCI and AD diagnosis, which will move beyond only clinical phenotype.
