Sony a5000 in 2018 - Gets It DONE!

I still use the sony a5000 as my main camera for all the YouTube videos. I decided to give you an update on why I still thing the SOny a 5000 is still good camera in 2018.

Your mic simply destroyed the built in mic. A lot of built in mics really don't do well indoors. I think having a mic port is pretty imortant or you need to be willing to record extrnal like you do. It totally brings your video to another level.

Funny that vloggers keep saying it's a vlogger camera because it's not. It will auto shut down for long video recording by design but of course the fact that it's able to do it gives it a new plus for today's vlogging needs on a budget. This is really an entry level camera for those entering the hobby of photography: someone who uses point and shoot digicams and smartphones for taking primarily still images. It's a fun easy to use camera for you to play/explore/learn the various manual settings like aperture, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, etc to see how it will affect your photos and get creative with it, not really for recording vlogs on full automatic settings(but of course it can do it too). Oh btw I still enjoy using my a5000 primarily for travelling.

Or you mean for 15-20 minutes straight gonna be a problem?

Great video, personally I'm using an a5000 still but not for photography anymore, I'm looking to convert it for live streaming. I've done a bit of research and figured out I'll need something like a Camlink to achieve that. The problem is a5000 unlike the a5100 doesn't come with an option to disable the HDMI info display. I'd like to get a clean HDMI output, have you figured out a way if any for this?

I shot a documentary on an A5000 and during an out-of-town interview, with everyone there, external audio rolling, light boxes cooking, in mid-sentence, boom... it overheated. We grabbed a bag of frozen peas from buddy's kitchen and finished the interview. I was a bit worried of moisture damage from the condensation but it was fine. We had a laugh, but I'd rather be laughing at something else.

In terms of video quality, what should do best. Akaso V50 Elite or this one? Mainly for daytime recording, where I just climb on a rock not higher than 5 meters. Exposure to sunlight would be important too. It's hard to compare both....

I use a Sony a5000 for about 4 years now and I love it dont see any reason to upgrade will just probably get a new lense and more batteries that's all

I always love Sony cameras because of its compact size. Yes, results are mind blowing but sometimes size also matters a lot. By the way it looks like Canon G7X.
