A Second Chance | Sal's Heart and Kidney Transplant Story

Born with kidney disease and previously suffering a heart attack, Sal needed both a heart and a kidney transplant. Despite previously being told he was not a candidate for a new heart, Temple Health’s expanded heart transplant criteria gave Sal a second chance. Sal received his heart and kidney transplants in May 2023. A year later, Sal is able to live life to the fullest again which includes time spent with his wife, daughters, and son and enjoying summertime at the shore.
