The devs who fixed the poorly released MCC are now in charge of Halo. This is why we have seen drastic improvement in Infinite. New writers and new engine, just what we needed

For me it feels like Halo is in the same situation like BF after BF V. You need to deliver. Hope they get it right and dont fuck it up like EA did

A lot of people in the comments not realizing all the leadership at 343 was fired and new people brought in (Pierre Hintze pretty much saved MCC and now he is the Studio Head). While this doesn't mean the next game will be good, it does give some hope since it won't be the same people that made all those bad decisions in the past.

Graphics were never an issue, it’s always been the writing and lack of content. I’m glad that most of the people at 343 Industries are gone and I’m excited to see what Pierre Hintze does leading Halo Studios.

I know people are still skeptical and rightfully so but we should give Pierre Hintze a chance, he saved the Master Chief collection with a team of around 30 people. Imagine what he could do when leading a team of 300-400. Especially now that they’re working on Unreal Engine and not the Slipspace engine which was time consuming to learn taking several months.

The issue was never the engine or graphics. It was the writers.

Edit: Admittedly I did not play Infinite, I knew it did not look good but I chalked that up to poor art direction rather than engine issues. I'm just concerned that what is happening is just putting lipstick on a pig.

I played the first Halo game for the story, it's progression and the plot twists. The graphics were great at the time but were there to support the story and narrative. I didn't care about multiplayer. Sometimes I feel that great stories is what is missing in modern games.

I disagree... The gameplay itself was never the issue. Its the systems, mechanics, and the creative choices that they took that didn't quite land.

It really shouldn't be that hard... Continue from Halo 3 and treat the last decade of Halo like one big Dragonball GT experience. You don't need to create a bunch of "new". Keep the beloved game mechanics and movement from Halo 3, have big battles and epic moments with Chief, some downright horrifying moments with the flood (go back to the M rating), and then build a traditional multiplayer and forge experience from that foundation. No micro transactions that impact actual gameplay. No game as a service. Get a bunch of devs that lived and breathed Halo through their high school and college days and let them build from a place of passion, just like Bungie did all those years ago. Halo isn't a split fanbase. We all loved it for the same reasons. Embrace those reasons. Act like the games industry is still in 2012 but you have access to 2024 tech. You don't need to make a game that suits everyone, but you do need to make a game that suits who you're making the game for.

One of my best experiences in gaming ever is playing Halo 3 coop legendary mode with friends. How 343 didn't have coop campaign on Infinite at all is mind boggling to me.

The problem about the Slipspace engine is that it made every little task require 5X the amount of resources and effort than it should. Hopefully, this wouldn't be an issue now that they're going on an industry standard game engine. The main problem with Halo Infinite was always the content and, therefore, the Slipspace engine and the shortcomings that came with it.

It would be nice to maybe get a story line like odst/reach again, I feel like after halo infinite they really need to make up for the lack luster story (Imo), I love the halo universe and they can do so much with it like letting us play as other spartan's like kurt/jerome etc, something new from a different pov where they could lean into the fights we never got to be in as john, Hell even being a marine in the halo universe could be a cool game, At least to me i feel like halo needs some sort of spin off game/game's, I feel like after reach/halo 3 every game has gotten worse and worse when it comes to the story, I wouldn't say they've been bad once but they've been very lacking when it comes to a halo game, I really hope they pull it off this time, I hope they've gotten some actual halo nerds/lovers in the dev team or that they at least hire more people who might actually know how to make halo feel like halo again and not feel so off, Long rant but at least this is how i feel about it 😉
