This definitely applies to about 80% of coaches and it's irritating being because it paints a bad picture for all coaches, evidently. Best to search for someone with a niche who has experience and can lay out exactly what they do. For example, someone who says they will help reach success is too vague. Someone who can identify a specific problem, has personal experience in it and has shown to help people with that specific problem, it's really helpful. Too many give compliments to make you feel better, instead of giving a new strategy that actually works. Plus people use one-size-fits-all systems that only work for a few. There are some genuinely good ones out there, but it's not regulated so it's a big mess. I'd say Tony robins has about 2% useful tools you can apply to life, but most of it is psyching you up and giving motivational speeches. Most self-help books are a waste of time too. I appreciate you being straight up.

I have worked in mental health and psychiatric facilities for over 20 yrs. This being said, I know a shit ton of individuals with degrees that had no business even trying to help people nor did they know how. if you going to be a life coach, I think you should have at least some mental health training. However, I did enjoy your video. You are very entertaining my friend. Thank You..

Definition of armchair phycologists: Armchair psychology is when someone without any relevant experience or qualifications gives you mental illness advice. Often, they think they're helping, but in reality, their "diagnoses" can be damaging. These life coaches are nothing more than sales people who think their opinion is better then yours.

I'd be epically embarrassed to tell someone - especially someone older than me - that I was a "life coach." I think I'd be embarrassed, period. In fact, I'm embarrassed FOR life coaches - all of them.

So glad I found this video. I searched “The joke about life coaching” for this reason. I do think it’s a bullshit way into people conning you into paying them for advice. Normally common sense advice. I recently met a guy and had coffee with him and came to find out he was a “life coach “ I literally thought he just wanted to have coffee. He tried to pawn me off on his “life coach” it was just all ridiculous. What happened to just being friends? Everyone wants something in return, always, that’s what I took from this and meeting that guy. What a joke. I’ve even had this happen to me at a department store where someone just comes up and talks my ear off about a great opportunity. I wish these people would leave me TF alone.

I don't think that you can take life coaches or any profession and sum them up as ALL bad. Some coaches are in it to honestly help people, but in life, you have to develop the art of discernment and be able to recognize who is authentic and who is not.

Hi! I looked up life coaches are scam artists because 5 of my former mom friends became “life coaches”. And wouldn’t you know it, I live in Utah! I’m exmo! Sick of everyone trying to peddle me bullshit! I also have few friends because I just can’t with most people. You’re hilarious, my kind of people

Edit: I legit laughed my ass off at your story about your drama teacher!

My ex's family got so deep into the bullshit life coaching scam that they believe they genuinely can direct other people's lives. Including their daughter's. Whom they forced to break up with me because they thought I was poor. Keyword *thought*.

The irony was, I made more than both husband and wife combined, was living in a very nice condo at the heart of the city, and they couldnt even afford the house they were currently living in. They had to sell their car to keep paying for more lifecoaching session. They tried to swindle me into paying for lessons that cost a quarter of my salary. The dad tried to intimidate me by lying about how much it costs to raise a family in the city we live in (he was 100% wrong).

I cant explain how angry I am at life coaches, and life coaching.

Some of these people (coaches) are predators. Please be generous to those of us who have been misled by our hearts and not our heads. 💔

Just fired my "executive coach" she didn't know what she was doing and kept asking me to write exercises about my goals

It was hard to find this topic. It's worse than a yeast infection. Also, hilarious that most of these coaches are young twits! Yep, THEY know what life is like, to the extent that they are experts!

They’re not stupid, they’re desperate :(

The most annoying thing about Life Coaches is many feel they are such advanced life experts they make "analysis" comments + bogus "advice" in response to anything anyone says in a Zoom meeting. The advice is always bad and really just their self-projections and it muddies up the conversations. Although there are exceptions, whenever I find out more about these "coaches" I find they admit they are broke and depressed. Life Coaches are so incompetent.

How about a 12-step program for lifestyle coach addiction?

Definitely agree with you! Well said!

As a young elementary teacher, teaching 2nd grade as a 23 year old, I feel as if life coaches don't have the certifications and or training to help with health, counseling, and also particularly behavioral factors. As a teacher I see those things with my kids that parents try life coaching lessons and they take it to a extreme level. I definitely see some of my kids in my class start to show some form of behavior problem that some reason they act out. In the form of parents making these kids do these things is absolutely heartbreaking. An absolute thanks to you for sharing this ❤

Most life coaches are also not recurrently trained also. There's no set training requirements for being a life coach. These people are absolute scams for sure. I went to a life coaching seminar taught by Ray Blanchard. An absolute heartbreaking and tragic moment to begin with. There would be group therapy and I do not like group therapy for some reason... also they say about a transformational course with that being they only focus on the solution rather than knowing what problem or issue you have. They basically ignore the fact that I had autism and now I'm a great elementary teacher.

Thanks so much for sharing again! ❤

Man, I did not see that wrap up/ending coming. I enjoyed the hell out of the main part of the video, but that may have been the most unexpected and strongest finish I have seen in a YouTube video. I think you may have the gift AG.

I had an acquaintance that became a life coach. When that didn’t work out for her… she became an escort. Very, very sad.
