In his inaugural keynote address from Downing Street, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has warned the British public that "things will get worse before they get better" as his Labour government tackles the challenges inherited from 14 years of Conservative rule. Addressing an audience of around 50 people he met during the election campaign, Starmer acknowledged the "rot deep in the heart of the structure" of the country, vowing to "overhaul the entire thing" rather than rely on quick fixes.
