Ah, the SpongeBob island. Brings back memories. I was just ten-and-a-half when that cartoon premiered on Nickelodeon on a hot July day in Southern California. My favorite Nicktoon, right up there with Rugrats. I'd watch it religiously, though I stopped after 2005 because of school along with the fact that it just didn't have the same feel as the first six years. I started again briefly in 2007, though, and found some of those episodes to actually be pretty great. Perhaps I'll give the second half another chance. Tangent aside, thank you, dear Nobody, for this surprisingly nostalgic playlist.

My heartbeat is a reminder I'm still living.
The town I live in is a reminder of a painful past and future that awaits me if I stay here.
The school I graduated from reminds me of countless people I had known and the unbearable pain of being alone.
Everywhere I go there's a painful reminder of my existence.
My mother doesn't understand that this town is painful to live in after all these years.
She calls it safe, while I call it boring, a reminder of my misery.
It's painful having to see the same places over and over again.
As for my father, well he isn't there.
The more I think about it, I question my existence.
Why am I still here? Is this thing we call life worth it?
It's not a matter of thinking positively and believing in the better, I've always had.
But there's a part of me that wants to give up, that already believes I don't belong anywhere.
