Action painting is all about the process and the feelings while painting. It is basically painting without wanting to go somewhere and just letting it happen.

I am not sure I would put this under action painting because it does have a sense of freedom in it but you are also limited to the form of the branch and the guy doesnt seem to put any emotion into it.

As for if it looks good. I would say it would make a great piece to fill up an empty wall in modern style house but I would not pay over 200 dollars for this

Well, painting the art considers emotion and feeling which you put there. When you are just hitting the paper with painted branch it's just garbage.
