- Leaves and flowers are shaped like hearts. The leaf blade is green from the stem, the young leaves are green, the old leaves are dark but shiny. The leaves are large, 9–15 cm wide and 18–30 cm long. The petioles are quite small, up to 30 cm long. The flowers are heart-shaped and come in many colors such as white, yellow, red, pink, orange or green. The flowers themselves are oblong, about 2-4cm long, usually the same color as the flower or yellow, attached at the top of the flower.
Plants should be planted in a highly organic soil with good drainage to prevent stem and root rotting. Therefore, it is still most suitable to grow plants in the soil mixed with coir, husk, half-rotted wood or bagasse. At the same time, if it is cold, you should cover the ground with straw so that the plants can withstand the weather.
- Need to water the plants immediately after planting. Wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering, with a moderate amount of soil wet. Do not over-water as this can cause damage to the roots and yellowing of the leaves. Usually watered twice a week in the summer and once a week in the winter.
- Plants need indirect light or early morning light before 10am. If growing indoor plants, you should put pots in the balcony, window. We can also turn on the fluorescent lights to make the plants flower more beautiful. Avoid exposing the plant to intense sunlight as it will burn leaves and flowers.
- The tree does not grow in height but grows branches and leaves very quickly. Withered leaves and faded or brown flowers should be removed.
