As a wheelchair user myself. I have had this happen countless times. It's so annoying and dangerous as I have to be on the street like you did in the video.

For some reason it’s always the pickup trucks too. You buy the most bulky car possible and then park it in the most inconvenient spots.🙄 Like, even before my husband became disabled i noticed this trend with these cars. Why are they like this?

People in wheelchairs, people pushing babies in strollers need to be safe. That's what the ramps are for. Parking so that the sidewalk is blocked is illegal for a reason.

So many times we use no thought about disabled parking and curbs for getting around. I am happy to watch your videos and learn. I feel most don’t mean to but just forget about those in wheelchairs, I learned when helping my dad who was double amputee. I also learned to respect service dogs as I always want to pet them 😫 your channel taught me to realize they are working and don’t want pets!

People are so inconsiderate. It's so dangerous for blind people and anyone with mobility issues and other disabilities. And even people without disabilities aren't safe stepping out on a road. Not only are they blocking the sidewalk, drivers on the road may not be able to see you in time.

But God forbid this truck have to park a little farther so that other people can be safe. 🙄

My 80 year old neighbor was in the same situation. He walked out block daily to stay fit but he wasn't as steady as he used to be. Our other incredibly selfish neighbors parked their car across the sidewalk. He tried to go around like you did, he tripped, fell and broke his hip, hit his head and was very bruised and scraped up. He needed surgery due to the accident and ended up with an infection. 3 days later this wonderful gentleman that used to use his snowblower to clear everyone's driveway and sidewalk after a snowstorm so when we got home from work wouldn't have to do it was dead. He died because of their selfishness and laziness. Sometimes actions have consequences far beyond anything we think of at the time. I don't live there anymore but I drove through the old neighborhood a year ago and they are still parking that same gold car across the sidewalk. Even after that gentleman was loaded into an ambulance from the ground behind their car that day.

I had a rant at a white van driver just yesterday. Our road is not wide but wide enough to park. He was half on and half off the pavement which is a regular occurence in England. I said he should not be half on the path but he ignored me. When we came back there was another van parked the same way but I just stared at the driver until he moved. Why must we put ourselves in danger so they can be selfish.

My mum always got so annoyed by stuff like this (and therefore kinda taught us to dislike it too). It was mostly because of strollers (as she has had a few kids and she doesn’t drive) but this so just another reason to hate when people do this

Please also don't buy these ridiculously large pick-ups. They have no purpose, but conjest traffic, have a dismal CO2 balance, are so unnecessarily heavy that road surfaces are damaged much more quickly, and increase the rates of deaths in accidents with pedestrians. Most shockingly, they drove up the rate of children dying after being backed over when getting it the car out of the driveway (often parents accidently killing their own children), since children are invisible from the high position of the driver and the tank like car body obstructing the view.

This happened to me when I was out with my mom in my wheelchair. It’s illegal and if you wanted to you could call the non emergency line and tell them and they’ll send a cop out to the address. It’s not just for people with disabilities. It’s also because it’s a SIDE WALK!
