totally inebriated on the Kool Aid here lately. Of course I am nearly every season. But seeing a guy like Sheridan Wilson assert himself and force his way into the starting lineup is very encouraging. With the level of recruiting McGuire & Co have achieved I bet we see some other young guys force their way into a starting role.

Wilson’s ‘stache & headband reminds me of Ben Stiller’s character in Dodgeball. Intensity level fits as well.

I want to say that Chris Level's presence and delivery as a commentator and show host has really risen to the top. When you combine that with his knowledge from experience he is now one of the better ones to watch. Keep it up Chris.

I thought it was interesting…a reference to Doak Walker, of the 1948-50 time frame running fame from SMU….number 37 !

This season just *feels different* than years past. I heard all the talk from last year, and i still had Tech at 8-4/7-5 type season....

But this year....Ive got 9-3/10-2 type season....heading out to Arizona and winning that game against the Wildcats to start 6-0.

You mentioned Randall Tex Cobb. Were you aware that he played for our opening opponent? Played at ACU. I met him once. The story I was told was that in addition to playing football and classes, he worked construction or something like that. Slept maybe 2 hours per day.

Wonder if yall could do a show about some 4 star recruits we have that are still baking In the oven (nick fattig, Isiah Crawford, etc)

This was great to listen to. Like hearing about those clean pockets so the QB can step into his throw. Please keep Morton healthy. All I ask

I remember Leach’s OLs. Obviously better at pass blocking. Run blocking was suspect. The wide splits helped those RBs get yards. But the 2008 I felt had the right mix of pass/run blocking.

Great show, guys. I feel better about the OL now.

Excited that Wilson has improved so much that he appears to be locked in as the starter. My disappointment is that a few other younger OL guys aren't a little closer to being starters. If there are any, it seems to have been kept quiet. Which of the Soph or Freshmen OL should we expect to hear about next?

I hope I’m wrong, but doesn’t sound like we’re better on the OL, just less bad.

I think it's great news about Wilson. I believe he was playing tackle in h.s., so it would be interesting to hear what the coaches were thinking about his future when they signed him. Like Chris said, 6'5" seems more preferable than 6'. I think that if Carter is as smart as you say he is, then he has to know that any dreams of being drafted into the NFL are just that, dreams. Like Chris said, it's about the measureables and he's 6', listed at least. That's why he spent 2 years in a j.c. and then went to Memphis. Maybe he's thinking about coaching and exposure to as many positions as possible in the OL is a plus. I don't think CJM does bad stuff like promising starting time to recruits, so maybe Carter is just fine with how he will be utilized here. Besides, what are the odds of all 3 interior positions get through the entire season healthy? I think he's probably going to see enough snaps to be fairly happy. Lots of maybes there, so just guessing.

Ty Buchanan channeling his better Mark Stepbosku???? If he can play that way…it’ll be nice!

Last year we heard about pass pro and the ol winning... But it turned out that The dl was losing, not ol winning. How do we feel about it this year? Is our pass rush going to struggle, or is this ol actually better at pass pro this year.

Cobb was an Abilene Eagle and also played football at ACU, briefly.

Over/under 1.5 quarterbacks this year?

I'd lean towards having better pass pro to keep Behren healthy all year over better run blocking. As we saw Brooks can make a lot out of nothing but Morton is the key to the whole season staying healthy. My only worry with Morton is that during a play to try and convert, he takes off for a first down and takes a big shot on the throwing shoulder and sets himself back injury wise. If he learns how to slide and if they stop calling QB power then we will be golden this year.
