All the years I lived in Modesto I never looked up the history and also I have some of those bricks when that building had gotten torn down, and my brother is resting in Acacia cemetery ty for the history lesson 🙂

I love how you really put the time and effort in giving us a history lesson. I wish more reporters were like you and just gave us the facts. I've been watching your old videos for awhile now and I can't get enough of our local history.

Thanks Jeff, I’ve lived in Modesto since I was three years old, I am now 58. I used to ride my bike with my buddies to the graveyard at night and I remember that headstone that stated” I told you I was sick”… LOL those facts about Mr. McHenry or should I say Brewster I had never heard before. Interesting… I was one of the fortunate few who used to cruise McHenry back in the day. Graduated from Downey high. Thanks again Jeff, you did a great job with the history lesson.

Jeff, You missed the grave of Joseph Sr and Assunta Gallo, parents of Ernest and Julio Gallo, they're buried in the Catholic section. Joe Sr shot and killed Assunta because he believed that she was involved with another man, interesting story..

This was really awesome to watch. I was raised in Modesto and my grandpa is buried in this cemetery, in front of the little building in the background where the flag is. My mom was a professional seamstress and though I'm not sure how she met the woman that was living in that little building, she began sewing for her when I was a little girl. I'm thinking this was a caretaker. On one occasion the woman asked my mom is she would like to go in the room where they kept coffins, and try one out. I believe that was the last my mom sewed any clothes for her lol I think she was just a very friendly woman. There's a lot of history there. I really enjoy your videos!!

Your videos are so well researched and presented, they are a pleasure to watch. You make the seemingly boring subject of history to some, very interesting viewing for all.

My Girlfriend lived in a house with the back fence facing the Cemetery ... I would venture over there to see the who was at rest .. There were three young boys who passed away at same time if I remember right caught my interest two brothers and another boy .. all buried together .. What happened? .. A head stone that read "I told you I was sick" ....

My grand dad lost his arm in a farming accident. Must be a terrifying experience. I love the episodes featuring lot of history and for the most part beautifully landscaped. Top notch video and I appreciate this excellent channel!!!

Very interesting video, thank you for doing one on the Modesto area. It's actually a quite haunted cemetery, as are Wood Colony, Burwood and Lakewood Cemeteries among some others in the 209 and the old hospital across the street from Acacia is too.

Love your video!
I was born and raised in Modesto and heard a lot of stories from my dad. One in particular was about a shooting that took place at a burger joint called "Burgess Drive-In". Identified as "Mel's" in the movie "American Graffiti".
