Classic Game Room - BEST NINTENDO CONSOLE??

CGR reviews the GameBoy Color (the pink one!) and poses the question, "What's the Best Nintendo?"

SNES because I have rose tinted nostalgia goggles. Anybody who disagrees is factually and objectively wrong as my glasses will not allow me to see other's points of view.

The Wii. Backward compatable with Gamecube games that we all loved, made motion controls a thing, started virtual console, and the Wii remote and nunchuck is a very comfortable controller option. Some may knock the Wii because of a lot of shovelware on the system, but the games that weren't bad, were pretty great. Because of the Wii we got the likes of Brawl, Skyward Sword, Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns and many more awesome first party titles.

The Gamecube is my favorite. I feel like it was Nintendo's console in the real golden age of gaming, where there really was no set trending genre. In the N64 era there was a huge slew of adventure games. In the 8-bit era there was a huge amount of sidescrolling games. In our modern era there's an overabundance of first-person shooters. In the Gamecube era, the consoles had more power than any other consoles up to that point and so everyone was trying out new things with their new powerhouses. It's either the SNES or the N64 that's obviously going to win, but don't be so quick to forget the Gamecube.

Technically as an electronic-nerd, i have to say that the Wii really have had some thought about its inner workings. When looking inside, it's clear its build to last, which is somewhat rare today.

Even the backup battery is replaceable through an external hatch, and not soldered directly to the pcb (the cheap option, but when the battery dies, it usually takes the pcb with it = $$$). It just look quality - not thinking of the consoles capabilities.

Nintendo 64. Super Mario 64, 007 GoldenEye, Wave Race 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Star Wars. Rogue Squadron and many more. I was in gaming heaven when I got to play these on my N64. Last Nintendo system I had before N64 was NES, because on 16-bit era I rocked with Mega Drive. Sure I played SNES in my friends house, but never had one. And didn't have any Nintendo systems after N64 until I got 3ds last November. So N64 is kinda special to me.

i'll get shot for saying this by the gaming community... but i feel without a doubt that the WiiU is the best Nintendo console yet... and I'm not kidding. From a 1st party perspective it has the best games so far and it looks to only be getting better soon.

The Famicom and the Game Boy Advance SP. As a Famicom fan, I think it was an excellent system for 1983 with great versions of arcade games by Nintendo (Popeye and Donkey Kong) as launch titles. It was later pushed with mappers and extra hardware to developed more advance games such as The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Super Mario Bros 3 and the Castlevania series. As for the Game Boy Advance SP, it has a great library of games and it's backwards compatible with the Game Boy and Game Boy Color.

I think the Gameboy Advance SP is the most versatile. How to start picking a favorite it would be hard to say since I like everyone I've ever played.

Just got the 3ds XL. Most fun I had on a nintendo console since the Gamecube.

I'm was born in the N64 era, and haven't played Nintendo much, until I played Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Then I got hooked into them...and maybe Baby Mario too. Anyway, favorite console stands between 3DS and Wii U.

To me the SNES takes this one, that system stood the test of time during it's era. It may not have had blast processing but it had the games, which in those days that's what drove the system. Nowadays it's more about the specs and what the consoles can do outside of gaming.

to be honest, I really liked the Wii. It had the ability to play GameCube games (and use the original gamecube controller) plus, there was nintendos virtual console which allowed you to play the classics.

To be honest . I never had a Nintendo growing up, because my family never afford it . However, I think the best Nintendo console, and the best game console all together id the NES . Simply because 1) It brought back the industry from the famous 83 crash . 2) It started the gaming genre and the passion for video games ...
