Good morning Berlinerin 🐻
I really enjoyed it, i like to see something from past and the personal react. It's a viral dairy for you.
Berlin is a wonderful place to be and i am really happy and so glad that you like it. You can do so many things, every district is his own city and you have a lot of different places, some more like village parts, more big city parts.
Going into a good restaurant with your family and friends is a highlight and special in different ways, you usually do that so much, so take your time, enjoy it, keep it in your mind and recommend the place. That's always the best way for Tipp.
So a phone is not really necessary, the guys around me are important at this time.

I remember a vacation in 1991, where my husband and I traveled a few states in the US. One evening we went for a fancy dinner cruise in Charleston, SC, which unfortunately was canceled. So we went to a restaurant, where the waiter was really friendly, obnoxiously friendly - until we finished got our desert. We hadn't barely touched it when he already brought the receipt. In Germany, we might have ordered some coffee and/or digestif to close the evening but were forced not to. It felt very rude to us, almost like being kicked out. Not our way of life.

Good morning, Diana 😘
I really enjoyed your memory lane video and the way you embrace our culture, and especially the Berlin style of living though I am living in Düsseldorf. Btw, you looked great in 2017, but you are a beauty nowadays!!
Stay safe and healthy 😷

Yes, we don‘t like smalltalk and this fact makes it slightly more difficult to meet people here. We do not usually attempt to make friends of random strangers, but expect to form friendships in school, at work, in sports clubs etc., where we know we have at least one thing in common with the other person already, something to bond over. On the other hand, I‘d be interested in your take on making German friends, because my own experience is that once you have gained a German friend, you have gained a friend for a lifetime. We are very loyal and committed to friendships. And you can ask us for our last shirt (as they say) and we‘ll pull it off our back and put it on you. Whenever I made American friends (both here and there), no matter how sincere and close that friendship was for a while, within two years (or much less) of not being in the immediate environment of that person, you can assume, you‘ll never hear from or see that person again, they‘ll not try to get in touch on their own and all ties are over and done with. What is your experience here?

Yep, been watching your videos since the beginning! I also moved to Germany in 2017 and based in Berlin, so it's been nice to see your videos showcasing a similar experience to mine. (I had intended to make videos too but just never got around to it, heh.)

Greetings from Rhineland! I agree with you but there is one thing I often miss since we visited NYC for a week one year before 9/11. Almost every time when I took a photo with my friend in the foreground there was someone asking to take a photo of both of us. That's "fucking" 😜 rare in Germany. Another example: At a crossing, we were discussing where John's Restaurant was, right or left. Someone before us turned around and asked: "Kann ich Ihnen helfen?" 👍

i dont know if it is because of the videos itself, but you look way more natural (thats a good thing), i would say better then your past you.

Interesting video!
At the beginning of the current video you laugh about your hair from back then.
For ME, something else is much more noticeable:
The evolution from "North American claws" to "European fingernails".
Have you noticed at all that your style has changed in this respect?

Waiters are also chill with people hanging around for longer is due to restaurants making more profit from drinks than from the meals.

this is so much fun to be able to see the change of culture and viewpoint after a few years, you should come back to your "old" topics over and over

yes, we germans really hate small talk, cause its just a waste of time.We also love to enjoy our lunchtime, if its possible.I am an electrician and most part of the week in daily trouble for me its mostly unimpossible.I do it at the weekend. The older germans dont glue on the phone, me too;cause they´re not tight with the social media stuff.Younger germans you can see staring on their phone all time, even while having lunch or just cross the street. So sometimes you can fear that they just run into a traffic light.

what I also noticed: you got your maple leaf tattoo after you moved to Germany. ;)
