Donald Trump's Wife Melania & Daughter Ivanka Make Rare Appearance, Are They Avoiding Campaigning?

The former first lady and the former president's eldest daughter have largely steered clear of the campaign trail this year, a contrast with Trump's 2016 and 2020 campaigns when both played a larger role. Neither gave speeches. Why is that? we will delve into that later but first Melania Trump's presence helps the Republican Party show widespread unity. This is a theme that emerged prominently after the attempt on Trump's life last weekend. A day after the attack, Melania issued a statement calling on Americans to "ascend above hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence."

Campaigns often use spouses and families to humanise a candidate, but with Melania Trump taking a backseat this year, that job fell to other speakers, who painted a sympathetic portrait of Trump by sharing anecdotes of warm interactions between him and their children. Trump's 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, called him "just a normal grandfather." His daughter-in-law, Lara Trump also made her speech debut detailing how supportive Trump was to her career choices.

Trump's family, minus Melania, entered the arena after Trump signed paperwork formally accepting the GOP nomination. They went to the family box and stood throughout a boisterous speech by the wrestler Hulk Hogan.
Melania strategically entered later, smiling and waving to the crowd as she walked alone into the arena and up a flight of stairs to take her seat next to vice presidential nominee JD Vance.

Perhaps Melania did not want to speak because if she had it would have been too emotional for her - watching her husband nearly assassinated. Also, the comment that she didn't rush to Pres. Trump's side after the assassination attempt is ridiculous. I further agree with other statements that the democrats abused these two women in the past. This video just appeared in my news feed. I think it could have taken a better slant on the situation. I will probably avoid this channel in the future.
