Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints announces Missoula temple site

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints announced plans to build a new Missoula temple on a 5-acre parcel on the southwest side of town.

The temple will be located near the intersection of Old Bitterroot Road and Lower Miller Creek Road.

It is one of 17 new temple locations around the country and the third in Montana. There are currently temples in Billings and Helena.

The plans call for a 19,000-square-foot, single-story building.

The groundbreaking and completion dates haven't been announced yet.
