I feel like nintendo has asked TPC to hold out until the successor is to the switch has been announced

7:58 come on, anyone could predict riots in the Pokémon community!

They could have at the very least tweeted "There will be no Z-A news during the closing" like how Nintendo tweets "No Swicth 2 news" before Directs. Then again, there wouldn't be as many viewers if they were up front about it, lol.

We knew that ZA wasn't getting announcements at worlds, they only announced things for the competitive games that were actually played at Worlds. ZA isn't competitive (actually I'm more shocked we didn't get anything updated - or an event, nothing - for SV since its a competitive game).

Do you think its reasonable that the timeline for the Switch successor might be announced AT the next Nintendo Direct? Or do you think it would get its own sort of event, and leave the Nintendo direct to focus only on upcoming Switch titles?

Part of me wonders if ZA is intended to be a dual console release, and the marketing has information (or gameplay trailer is filmed in the new engine/new hardware) from the new console, and therefore we can't get news without the new console announced, so the delays have been killing the ZA marketing plan. But then, you'd expect to at least get like - official artwork of pokemon starters, or new megas, or NPCs, or something not tied to that. Interesting times!

for all the remakes of main series games they have always happened in sync years with the generations, so gen 1 remakes came out with Gen 3 to kick things off gen two remakes came out with gen 4 gen 3 remakes came out with gen 6 and gen 4 and legends being tied to gen 4 so gen 5 remakes will come out with gen 10.

My prediction for Legends ZA news is Oct/Nov. Considering they're apparently taking their time and their usual 6 month-ish promotion cycle, predicting April/May/june release for ZA release, Oct/Nov makes the most sense to me, can't see it in December.

If I had to bet, I'd guess the next gen will be based in California, there's desert areas (Death Valley and Eastern Cal), snowy areas (Sierra Nevada), costal areas (Western Cal), scenic countysides (Sonoma Valley), big metropolitan areas (LA, San Francisco, San Diego, etc.), you could have DLC related to Mew near the 30th year anniversary (Mew birth place could go from a jungle in Guiana to a jungle in Mexico), you could have DLC in Unnova and Alola, you could have DLC in Cascadia. You have many options to make good content in DLC.

ZA will probably come out for switch and be a launch title for switch 2

As disappointing as it was not getting Z-A info, I'm pretty sure that was done intentionally since Z-A is more than likely going to be mostly single-player focused like Legends Arceus was, and Worlds is ofc all about competitive stuff.

As for future Worlds locations, man, I REALLY wanna go to it someday. Watching a couple of the livestreams made me insanely jealous 😩

I agree! I think once Pocket drops in October we’ll get something about Z-A before the end of the year! I’ll leave a small amount of expectation until then! Would be a great way to drop the starters and share some more details for Z-A right before the New Year and Pokémon Day!

I feel worlds is 3 years in a row in the US, it’s because of large player base in the US and also infrastructure helps with the decision

September Nintendo Direct. There’s always one. They stopped promoting 2nd and 3rd party mobile games there years ago, and this will be the final Nintendo Direct for the final Nintendo Switch titles, of which Z-A is among. 100% that’s why Legends didn’t get any August announcements. Nintendo made a weirdly big deal out of promoting Arceus, and with Z-A’s placement in the year and the Switch’s library, I would assume the same will be true or maybe even more true with Z-A.

The fact you say with whole chest that it’s not going to be an NS2 game is absolutely mind blowing to me. Also how you can’t fathom any news coming out until AFTER pocket releases is just mind numbing idiocy

am i the only one who thinks pokemon needs to add to the online experience? like wouldn’t it be cool if they added like online mini games into the game. like having pokemon beauty pageants where u can go against trainers online on the beauty aspect. then there could be pokemon sky races where you fly on the back of pokemon in online races, and have ground races on the back of let’s say your arcanine or something. and all these different contests would have an overall scoreboard to see what trainers have the most wins. and you can use the already made training system for your pokemon to max out whatever thing you need to max out to make them best for the contest. like speed, attack, or whatever. i think online competition would make the game so much better. instead of the same ole max raid battle or pokemon battles.

Maybe since gamescom starts tomorrow night (french time), pokemon company wanted to keep things for this event. But there may be not much to say about ZA, after all. We have no clue at which stage of the making, they are.
