NEW STARTER SET LEAKS, PREDICTIONS AND RUMOURS: Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Welcome to my channel! This my ongoing series based around Warhammer: Age of Sigmar (and occasionally the odd mention of 40K!).

In this video I talk about the NEW EDITION OF AGE OF SIGMAR!! More specifically, about my thoughts on the new starter set that might be coming with the second edition. I received a leak from a guy on twitter, via another youtube channel (in Spanish) who claims to have a source directly within GW, and I also have a few of my own thoughts on what we might see in the box. TAKE THIS VIDEO WITH A PINCH OF SALT! It might all be false. But who knows! The set I come up with almost sounds too good to be true. But let’s wait and see.

I’m super excited about this. It looks like the Malign Portents is finally gearing up to everything we were hoping it would be. Fingers crossed for a brand new starter set that pits Stormcast Eternals against Death. Also, new death models are confirmed!! We get to see more of them in this video. Looks like Warhammer Fest is shaping up to be incredibly exciting for AoS! We are getting a new Night Haunts Battletome, a new stormcast chamber and a new forge world khorne lord on dragon (and so so so much more!!!).

(I’m about to start a pretty big career change and have been applying to it whilst making these videos so thanks for all your patience! so what the video says, the new box will be focused around the new chamber, the components from the new starter set are supposed to come from the new chamber, the normal units are supposed to be called the sequitors which is basically the liberators but focused on fighting demons and nighthaunts, the mage units are called evocators, are a mix between normal paladins and mages from the arcane college, they are armed with a wand and a sword, they can buff units, then the castigators (the heavy crossbow guys) and the rounds they fire are supposed to have dragon fire inside, they are supposed to be the judicators but focused to fighting nighthaunts, then we get a warmachine, it will be the first, but more are on the way, then the lord arcanum (the guy who is on the griffon-like creature) is the guy who actually reforges the stormcasts, can heal the troops.

and then he shows a warcroll of the knight incantor.

now the nighthaunt:

he says the army will be very tanky with unmodifiable 4+ save, the normal units are very good for disposable bodies.

the starter composes, 2 units of the new phantoms (cant understand the name) they are phantoms who where not good enough to join the stormcast but not bad enough to join chaos, so nagash now manipulates them to do his bidding

next is the glaive grave stalkers, are some sort of hunter unit, with rules to hunt characters

then grimcast reapers being a damage unit

lord executor, its meant to be a mage

then a phantom on a horse (he doesnt mention anything about it) he is supposed to buff the damage unit

and then at last he shows a pic of a warscroll




look the guy is basically describing the pictures uploaded in warhammer community, calling a leak that the next starter set will be stormcast vs nighthaunt is like saying we need to breathe air in order to live, like yeah he is not wrong, but he isnt bringing nothing new to the table.

That photo around 7:00 makes sense, but if they put all of that in it's gonna cost more (closer to Dark Imperium or Blightwar than previous starter)
For Stormcast - Big monster/general, 3 regular units, artillery
For Nighthaunts - Big hero, 2 lesser heroes, 2 elite units, 1 regular unit (big)
Previous starter:
Stormcast - Big monster/general, 1 hero (afair?), 2 regular units, 1 elite unit (angels)
Khorne - Big monster, big hero, 2 lesser heroes, 1 elite unit, 1 regular unit.

If we compare both starters, old starter for stormcasts had abouuut the same models minus artillery, and starter for enemy faction had abouuut the same models, exept now it has 2 big/elite units and not one. They might cut either grim reapers or horses from the starter and sell them separately, same with balista. On the other hand, SC with just general and 3 regular units would be kinda lame...

@kitetsu remember that there will be 2 starter boxes. 1 at £50 and 1 at 75-100. The release date is june 30th, with a 2 week pre order window and a 2 week advertising window thatll put official announcement of the 2 boxes at the 6th june.

The new starter is likely going to contain the models they showed off in the two faction focuses. So:

Mounted Knight of Shrouds, Lord Executioner, Guardian of Souls, Spirit Torment, 2x10 Chainrasp Hordes, 5 Glaivewraith Stalkers, and 4 Grimghast Reapers vs Lord-Arcanum, Knight-Incantor, 2x4 Sequitors, 5 Castigators, 3 Evocators, and the Celestar Balista and Crew.

Don't forget that there is still the night hunt we still have now that they can add. Hexwraiths, spirit hosts, black coach, tomb banshee, cairn wraith.

I had same impression the Nighthaunt half of the box is all encapsulated by the picture on the Nighthaunt Faction Focus. I've seen those models cropping up over and over and if it's true I definitely want to split two of those boxes.

I really hope that the stormcast are not monopose models because I use the upgrade kit shoulderpads/shields on my stormhost and I do not want to modify that many models. Too much work.

The nighthaunts, on the other hand... If they get all that in the starter set, I will buy at least one and split it with a friend. That mounted knight of shrouds will look great painted up.

I could see this being released without the Ballista thing for the Stormcast and maybe one of the larger Nighthaunt models. The rest puts it right around that 49-50 mark of models, and seems like an equivalent-ish fighting force. Or not have those three Equivocators or whatever they’re called and keep the war machine if they intend on showcasing just how those unit types work in a starter set.

This is really interesting and would make sense on GW end. This starter kit would not only appeal to new players of the game and those armies. But it would also appeal to players that already have full armies of these factions. I think this would be an awesome starter kit.

All ready got 27 squid saved, hope to add another 40 before it goes on pre-order, was gonna split it but might just get the whole lot.

It could be that this is correct. Its not all of the nighthaunt units. There is lot more coming. They said it first on the article but in the video you get a glimpse of at least 4 new units/models! So yeah im confident and this could be my introduction into AoS :3

I'm of course not behind this system of incomplete units in a starter set, but in this case I wouldn't mind getting the opportunity to get hands on a cheap easy-to-build set of some of the Nighthaunt models. I at least want a few of them to paint if I'm not able to collect them properly for certain financial reasons...

EDIT: Just to clarify, the guy from twitter has slightly backtracked and told me that the source may not be directly from GW!! Initially he said "this guy confirmed it to me and i know that his source is from GW itself". Now he says otherwise BUT it's still a sensible rumour either way!


TAKE IT ALL WITH A PINCH OF SALT! Nothing is 100% guaranteed until it is actually officially confirmed. To be honest, the leaks almost sound too good to be true! If we genuinely get this set, then I think GW will have outdone themselves! Let's keep those fingers crossed.

Just thought of something! Maybe the 4 models in malign portents are the armies that are getting fleshed out.

You have the Night haunt and storm cast eternals confirmed. So that would leave slaves to darkness and moon clan gits to get expanded.

New moon clan gits with mushrooms coming out of their bodies would be so epic. Also we now have moon clan lore. It turns out the moon clan were the first to go the realm of death. Also with a moon clan expansion we have a chance of Skarsnik coming back.

Please let my hopes be right.

Maybe the models are still wip like the 2 sequiturs because they showed an alternate prime and the Nighthaunt are lot more of a hoarde army than khorne so more models maybe

It was so frustrating that the big AOS box had 10 liberators without a single heavy weapon. The Big guys with the hammers didnt have a starsoul mace and i think the blood warriors/blood revers didnt have there special weapon ether..

are probably the same kit with options to build one or the other
