"THE PLATOON IS CURRENTLY AT PT"
Morgan Freeman: The Platoon was not at PT.

Went to the O course. Came back. The DI told the fire watch to report to the platoon about what happened.
“This recruit shitted on himself sir”
The DI rewarded him with a 15 minute phone call home.
And we saw the pit for 15 minutes for laughing at him. DI kept asking while we dug “why are you being punished” but no one was able to answer correctly.
When he came back he xplained it crystal clear: this recruit had a latrine less than 10 yards away but didn’t leave his post despite holding on to a necessary bodily function until his body took over his mind and he couldn’t hold it any longer and you decided mock that level of discipline!!!!

I remember not 5 minutes after lights out the recruit on front post shouted "Attention on deck, good morning sir!" we all busted out laughing in our racks

Nothing made us move faster than hearing, "Okay, take your time, too!"

I remember my first might on firewatch, I didn't remember how to report my post. I had 3 drill instructors screaming in my face and spitting on me, next thing I knew there were footlockers thrown everywhere and they disappeared... Good times

I like how drill instructors don't run or walk they just glide and appear next to recruits to yell at them

I said "Uhhh..." reporting my post back in 2001...5 drill instructors heard it....The MARINES know the rest.

For some reason, I found “How can they be at PT when THEY’RE IN THE FREAKING HEAD?!” Unnaturally funny. Lmao!

I wrote the report wrong in the log book and as well as being IT'd, I was made to eat the piece of paper. Good times

As intimidating as DIs were, those guys were the funniest/brutal men I've ever faced. . .
I went to boot camp on October 21st, so when Halloween came around - Which was right about the time the cycle was introducing "I.T." our DIs had us go up to other platoon's squadbays and pound on other DI's duty huts and scream "TRICK OR TREAT!! TRICK OR TREAT FROM PLATOON 3223!!" and I saw a whole new world that day; the 6th circle of hell. Same thing on Christmas, a DI from another platoon came into our squad-bay for reveille and had one of his recruits scream "Lights Lights Lights!" to the melody of 'Jinglebells' while the DI woke us up "MERRY CHRISTMAS 23!! TWO SHEETS AND A BLANKET - CENTER OF THE SQUADBAY, DEEP MOVE!" - Luckily I was a prayer leader and went to church early that day so I was cheated out of getting thrashed with the rest of my platoon on Christmas morning.

Aww the video cut off right before the post gets destroyed, the moonbeam gets smashed, and the recruit's green monster gets thrown across the squad bay. aka the best part.

When I reported when I had fire watch I said “good evening sir, recrui-“ before I can even really start the di would tell me to shut the fuck up. Then after that almost all the drill instructors came on deck and when I’d report everytime they walked in they would all tell me to shut the fuck up. Every, single, time”

That’s the same damn recruit that had on his USMC sweats on backwards and dancing “I’m a lollipop kid” in the DI hunt. This kid is a poster child of what DIs look for to put on the quarterdeck.

I fell asleep on fire watch one night. The other fire watch ratted me out and I was awakened my DI. He choked me out whispering how dead I was gonna be, and I had to stay up and cover the rest of the watches until morning. Then the fun began. Once all the other DIs found out what happened. Any time anyone was on the quarter deck for the rest of training, I was automatically told to join them.

This is 100% accurate of how firewatch 1st hour can be

It was at this moment (0:25) that the recruit knew...he fucked up.
