Reports of illegal dumping in Los Angeles soared in the first two months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to data compiled by Crosstown LA.

There were 22,046 reports of trash, furniture and other debris discarded illegally in the city in January and February, up 36%, according to the data news outlet. That’s the highest number for that period dating back to at least 2018, based on publicly available data from the MyLA311 service.

Giant trash pile on US Army Corp/SCE land in Montebello along San Gabriel Blvd between the 60 Freeway and Lincoln Ave. The trash pile is adjacent to a very large homeless encampment. This homeless population used to live along the adjacent Rio Hondo south of the 60 Freeway but they all moved to higher ground along SG Blvd because of flood risk. Some of them used to live nearby in the Army Corps dried up mitigation lake off Rosemead and San Gabriel Blvds in the Whittier Narrows Nature Center.

Dude I’m Hispano and can say a lot of our independent construction guys do this crap on the regular with no shame. I catch them on the regular doing this BS in the midnight and early hours in the city and especially in rural nature areas. It’s a shame and generally a generational learned behavior to being cheap and trashy 🤨🤮

Animals are not potty trained. ducks, lions, bears, birds or cows poop wherever they are & walk away. Same thing.

Where's the POLL & approval rating on LA RESIDENTS dumping their trash wherever they feel like it? Why hasn't the fire chief taken responsibility for this? Let the trash stay where it's at until concerned citizens find volunteers to clean it up. Stop enabling bad manners or learn to Respect.

We all pay a tax on our DWP bill for a service that was started by mayor garcetti to place bulky items at the curb and call 311. So DO YOUR JOB or remove the tax! Maybe we should call Elon!

Ah yes illegal dumping!
For the last several years, Los Angeles is the epicenter and the capital of fatal hit-and-run accidents in the country! All thanks to the Sanctuary City and Sanctuary State policies. And City officials are concerned about illegal dumping?
Good to know!

Where I live residents have to cough up close to $50 per truck load. No discount even if it’s a small truck like my Ford Maverick. I can understand why people dump illegally. It can cost several hundred bucks making 6-7 hauls to the dump.
