This is infuriating. If I had seen this before I joined a sorority, I wouldn't have touched recruitment with a ten foot pole. This is nothing like my greek life experience and it truly makes me sad that this is how we're being portrayed to the public.

I was never hazed by my sisters. This is such a stereotype against sororities, because in reality they really do become your family, and why would you want to be in a family with people who treat you like that?

wow. I'm so appalled that TLC chose some of the most unclassy, superficial women to represent sororities all over America. this is in no way shape or form ANYTHING like greek life. We are women who strive to be better people within ourselves and the community by coming together under greek letters. We do not tell girls they arent good enough because of their weight, or looks, or the way they dress. this is absolutely terrible.

There are strict rules preventing hazing for the NPC. Granted, these girls are not part of the NPC, but they clearly have a very skewed perception of what Greek Life is really like... I'm a newly initiated member of a sorority, and I've never been hazed. I was never forced to do a "Date Dash" (like in Sydney White, like what the hell), drink excessively, be measured or weighed... This show is horrifying to me and my sisters, who told us all about this show and got us to sign the petition...

@Ahryn11 I understand where you are coming from BUT these are not the sorority sisters traditions and rituals. The girls never once mention which sorority they are part of back home, and are very secretive throughout the process when it comes to their real life sororities. If people took the time to watch the show they'd realise that the true message of what it means to be part of a sorority shines through.

@cb18abc When they say 'weighed and measured' it means that they have observed the girls behaviour in the tasks, and if she has not behaved appropriately her membership will be revoked. They do not phsyically weigh and measure them!! The show was created by E4 for a British audience, we don't have the Greek system, so the show was created for entertainment purposes. Not as a docummentary, and the British public are aware of this. The show has not lessened my opinion of sorority girls!

I can't believe the TLC writer who came up with the line, "This is a higher standard, this is a sorority, this is what we're all about". Oh really? Is it? Superficiality and partying is what sororities are ALL about? Funny, but when I joined my sorority the actions encouraged were philanthropy, academic excellence, and being an active member of your community. Sorry if that seems too boring for your reality show or that some legitimate research into sorority life was too strenuous for you.

@Ahryn11 The show was created for a British channel called E4, and the advert does the show no justice. If you give the show a chance you'll realise that the true meaning of sisterhood shines through with sucessful alumni appearing in a later episode. The British public are very aware that aspects of sorority life are dramatised, but the show was also a competition so tasks were created. The show made me want to join a sorority, not hate on the girls (:

I am personally outraged by the airing of this show. It does not represent Greek life in the right light at all, and it is wrong of such a highly thought of network airing a show that is based on lies. Sororities rituals are kept secret and are never told to any one outside of the sorority, not to mention aired on T.V. Thats not even talking about the hazing. I am a Greek pledge and have never been hazed AT ALL. this show is an unfair and unreal representation of sororities.
