What is the best way to expose myself to the stories of history? Robert seems to have a knack for finding relevant lessons in the events from the past, but all the history textbooks I’ve read have provided a holistic overview of events that have transpired rather than a narrative of the underlying story.

I know life was hard in the past, however I feel life was also easier in so many ways. I would love to go back in time to visit a world without plastic, technology, and cars everywhere. The old buildings are beautiful, but now the streets are full of commercial signs. Todays world is just too much of everything for me, too much stress, decisions, and possessions I don't need. I guess the social pressure was high in the old days though, especially for women.

Thank you, nice notice. Besides the time effect, we all have our own perspective of reality and it is only a part of the totality of truth. E.g. the ones that watch this video, each will have their unique understanding and interpretation of it and all of them are true.

I've changed the way I think by believing in God and then having those moments where you know God is real. But then why do you feel like He is not real anymore? And then live 10 or so years trying to believe in God and now you see God reaching out everyday and you get to renew the knowledge of God. Trying to remember that God exists is like taking on a new paradigm or perspective of thinking each and every day I do it and once I get locked in again and I can see God, I kind of get locked in, it's hard to unsee God once you see Him during your day! Acknowledging God is real cognitively is something that will change your whole day, keep having days like that and it will change your whole life!

People are so used to having comfortable and luxurious lives and homes that they forget we are animals that shit out our ass just like the others.

The past is a foreign country, they do things differently there. The past is still alive today in all of us.

We wear different masks now than we used to in different times and cultures. And some places in the world are like visiting the past. But our technology has been becoming more important than our humanity since the turn of this century. I wonder how people in the future will view our times.
