I converted my single prong Stoic weight lifting belt into a lever belt using the adjustable Pioneer PAL lever and some DIY skills. It's AWESOME! In the video I showed how I cut off the buckle, drilled holes for the new lever, and assembled the new lever belt. At the end, I show how you can measure your belt to determine if your belt is the correct size for this mod to work. It turned out great and I used code basement! It was was only $41 ! Saving $80

Your old belt generally needs to be on the longer side/ you need to be on the tightest notches of your belt for the conversion from prong to lever to work. Generally most lifting belts are 4" wide. This will work for 10 mm or 13 mm thick lifting belts.

Deciding on which weight lifting belt can be challenging based on cost, lever vs prong, style, and thickness. The Pioneer PAL lever is the best weight lifting belt design as it allows half inch adjustments vs 1 inch. This is useful for weight loss, or while removing or adding clothing during a workout which usually makes the belt slightly too loose or too tight.

This DIY mod was easy and fun, and saved me 80 dollars. My Stoic belt was $60 in 2017 and has worked well, and the "Discount PAL Lever" was $41. for a total of $101. I would have had to have spent $120 vs $45 for a whole new belt. You should be able to use just about any old belt you have and turn it into an awesome lever belt. Reduce reuse recycle lol :)
00:00 Intro
02:50 I talk about sizing the belt to get this conversion from a prong belt to a lever belt to work. It needs to be on the longer end, i.e. close to the tightest notch on your current belt.

The belt functioned very well and I set two squat PRs when trying it out: 425 lbs for 5 reps, and 375 pounds x 9 reps.

And I used Brandon Cambell's code "Basement" to save 10% from Pioneer General Leather Craft to get the belt down to $41.

Stoic Belt review: 3.5 years later, 585 deadlift, 500 squat, 240 Strict OHP, the stoic belt is fine piece of dead cow and steel. I only upgraded because i was losing weight, ran out of belt holes, and I was finding I wanted half inch sizing vs 1 inch. The speed of the new lever is also nice.

Nice! In the process of making my first cyst weight belt and this really helped! Definitely like the multi prong lever better than the single set. Great work man🔥

What is the name of the material you used to make the belt?

Have you made all the holes in the belt by drilling? I recently bought a lifting belt, it'll become too big for me when I lose weight, so I'm asking because of that.

Is it okay not to wrap or cover the cut portion?

All that work and you didn't even use threadlocker? I know it's unlikely, .... but once you've got your size set why else would you want the screws to back out
