This is a step by step how-to build a dresser video. This DIY modern farmhouse 2.0 dresser is a gift for my daughter. I loved working with new techniques and building something I had never built before. I had never attempted a dresser build, but this one came out great. I used full extension ball bearing drawer slides. I show you how to build drawers in this dresser. I dress up the ends of this farmhouse dresser with cove molding. I also tapered the legs to give it a little something extra. This style is like a contemporary glam or modern dresser. I used a stain blocking primer before applying 3 coats of Benjamin Moore White Dove paint. I am so proud of how this project came out. I was a little nervous going into the project but it was something that I wanted to attempt. I watched a few videos online to get a grasp of how to go about building the dresser, then jumped right in. The fabulous glass drawer pulls really set it off in my opinion. If you are looking to build a similar dresser or chest of drawers, check out the video.

This dresser features seven large drawers with full extension slides. The dresser measures 38 inches tall, 18 inches deep and 61 1/2 inches long. The supplies used to build this project include: 2 sheets of 4’ x 8’ 3/4” sanded birch plywood. 1 sheet of 1/4” plywood. One 2x8x8’. Three 1x6x10’. 1-1/4” pocket hole screws. Wood glue. Seven pair of full extension ball bearing drawer slides. 20 feet of cove molding. Drawer pulls. Primer and paint. This project was a little more expensive with the supply bill coming in at a little over $250.

Nice project great build. My youngest son bought his first home which was built in 1916 and when it was built they used plank boards to create wainscoting in the living room which we discovered when we removed the old lathe and plaster to put in insulation and drywall. So, my plan is to make a dresser using those boards so he will have a piece of the house for years to come and your video was helpful in my project.

Maybe build another dresser with the tools you have now. Cool to see the places you start from but wanting to see how your process would improve over the years. Great video.

Good Daddy! I just built my youngest daughter your farmhouse bar, and added a lower shelf made with 3" slats. My first real pocket hole project. Turned out nice. I left it in sections so it would fit in her car for the 12 hour ride back to South Carolina. She will use it as her TV stand. Great channel.

Great job! And thanks for pointing out the subtle imperfections. I try hard to make my projects perfect and get frustrated seeing my mistakes, though many are probably only noticeable to me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for posting, adapted to make two dressers for my daughter she loves them. That tapering legs on the miter saw is a little dicey and screwed up on that more than I want to admit lol. Came out great.

I have been binge watching your videos for the last few days. I am very impressed. You build very useful projects with minimal tools and everything comes out beautifully. This dresser is awesome. You should be proud. As you get more experience and confidence, it really shows.
When i build things like this, that are going to be painted, i use some latex caulk at all the seams, especially where the cove molding meets the panel. It fills those little gaps and nobody will ever know.
Keep up the good work. You are very inspirational to many woodworkers.

Another great build!! Your explanations in what you do keep it simple and efficient. Your style of building and assembly is almost just like my style. You can make really nice things without having a huge dedicated workshop with high dollar tools and equipment. Plus with you pointing out errors and issues, it keeps it real...because we "All" make mistakes. Keep up the awesome projects.
