Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania neds on one heck of a cliffhanger for Phase 5. We explain the ending, the future of Avengers: Kang Dynasty, Avengers: Serect wars, Loki Season 2, and the Young Avengers.

#AntMan3 #Quantumania #EndingExplained

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania just kicked off phase 5 in the best way possible.

We just witnessed the craziest MCU credits scenes with the introduction of the council of Kangs.
There are so many Kangs to explain.

The stakes for the multiversal saga are clear now, the Kangs are assembling a multiversal army against the Avengers.

There’s also that shocking ending with Kang the conqueror, who may or may not be dead.
But who are we kidding, he will probably return, and we have an idea on how Kang is still alive.

And finally, we got to talk about that Loki season 2 tease, and who is the mustache Kang variant.

And of course, how does all of this set up Avengers Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Alright, let’s get straight into it, and break down that insane mid-credit scene.

And it’s insane because I never would have imagined that Marvel will full-on recreate this panel from Avengers #292. And somehow pull it off.

So we see what looks like a giant colosseum filled with countless versions of Kang. There are Kangs of all shapes and sizes. Some are human, others are alien. There’s so much stuff for us to go over in our easter eggs video.

Doug: But what’s the deal with all of these Kangs.

So this is the council of Kangs from the comics.

They are a multiversal alliance of many versions of Kangs from different universes.

This is also the case in the MCU. The council is filled with countless Kang variants.

[script]

And these Kangs are the ones who are pulling the multiversal strings.

So there are many variants in this scene, but three of them stand out.
They seem to be the leaders of the council.

There’s an older-looking variant, and he looks like Immortus from the comics.

Immortus is a version of Kang from the far future who’s always manipulating everyone.
He’s always fighting with his younger self, which is Kang the conquer.
Also, Immortus was secretly behind the council of Kangs in the comics.
He manipulated Prime Kang to form the council to wipe out all of his variants.

Doug: Prime Kang? Optimus Prime is in the MCU too?

No….haha, by Prime Kang I mean the original Kang the conquer.

Anyways, then there’s the Pharaoh-looking variant, this one is Rama-Tut.
In the comics, he was the first persona Kang adopted.

Before becoming Kang, he was Nathaniel Richards, a scientist from the 30th who discovered time travel technology.
He traveled back to ancient Egypt and became the Pharaoh Rama-Tut.

This isn’t the first time we saw Rama-Tut in the MCU. He was teased in Moon Knight.

The third variant seems to be the Scarlet Centurion.
Though he doesn’t actually look like him that much.
He seems to have silver armor instead of red one.

But I assume that he’s meant to be a slightly different version of the Scarlet Centurion.
It makes sense since Kang has three other major personas in the comics: Immortus, Rama-Tut and the Scarlet Centurion.
So it will mean that the three leaders of the council are these 3 variants.

In the comics, Kang became Scarlet Centurion after he was defeated by the fantastic 4 as Rama-Tut.

And hold up, could this mean that the Fantastic 4 will fight Rama-Tut in their movie? Now that could be wild.

Anyways, the Fantastic 4 kicked Rama-Tut out of ancient Egypt and he ended up in the present day. There he met Doctor Doom. The best villain in the comics made an impression on Rama-Tut, so he ditched the Pharaoh persona and got a new one, inspired by, becoming the Scarlet Centurion.

I should also mention that Kang’s son Marcus became the Scarlet Centurion in the Kang Dynasty storyline.

Now there are two other important Kang variants who are missing from this scene, the one that appears in the post-credit scene - that one is Victor Timely.
And He Who Remains, the Kang variant that appeared in Loki.

Jonathan Major was so good in this movie, that particular version of Kang was nearly perfect. The way he would flip from rational to...not so rational, and back again was just great. I really hope this Kang is still alive and is the main antagonist going forward.

Jonathan Majors has highjacked the character, Kang, and has made it his own. He has secured his role in the Marvel Universe and will be irreplaceable. Has has such presence that he rarely needs to speak at all and when he does, you know it's important. Totally awesome and I cannot wait to see where he takes this character next.

these, to me, were the most exciting mid and post credit scenes we’ve had in a while. the end of the movie was not exactly what i expected, but that left me pleasantly surprised.

Or maybe when Scott knocked Kang into the machine, this split Kang into variants across time and space, not only making things worse, but ultimately being the point where all of these Kangs were created from in the first place.

I think the scene with the three Kangs was about them finding out that Loki/Sylvie killed He Who Remains. The shot of the multiversal mess that was made looks like the same shot from the ending of Loki.

You guys have fantastic punctuality. Literally in the theatre waiting for the second end credits scene and your video is ready and queued

The epilogue scenes of Scott strolling around felt like a Wandavision episode

I absolutely loved this film It's not prefect whatsoever, but it did so much that I wanted, and seeing the council made me so happy.

i loved your theory about He Who Remains = Ant-man's Kang. Their goals are very similar. And I can see that after destroying other Kang variants he wants to 'retire' and making sure that his mission didn't go to waste, hence he become HWR. Amazing!

with Kang’s implication that the Dynasty enjoys hopping around to make alternate timelines, does that mean when He Who Remains was somewhat containing the Dynasty (probably some reverse horucrux-type method) and his death restarted the Dynasty conflict again? Would have a large impact since we see that sprawling branch in Loki

I think this is what Kang planned from the beginning- he did tell Scott “I know how it all ends”

It was all part of the plan

This is the best analysis so far! I'm actually very confident that this is the direction MCU is taking moving forward

I was absolutely terrified of Kang yet wanted to hear what he had to say. This movie had the first fight in FOREVER where I wasn't sure who would make it out or how it would end.

I have a theory that the Kang we saw in Quantumania is the same one as the one from the end of Loki, and we are watching Kang’s story out of chronological order, because he doesn’t follow time linearly. Sort of like Eric Bana’s character in The Time Traveler’s Wife. Or Guy Pierce in Memento. And then when the Multiverse Saga ends, we can set up a different order in which to watch the movies, which will follow Kang’s pov of the sequence of events.

I also think the TVA is in that city of his, since it exists outside space and time (which is why the Infinity Stones don’t work there). My guess is that within the movies of these next phases he’ll show up again and again to gather the tools he needs to weaponize Alioth. But maybe in the next one he’ll be almost ready and then in the next still starting, since we may first see him further along and then later see him earlier (lol).

Nothing like that feeling after finally watching the movie in theaters and now being able to binge all the screen crush videos about it

This is definitely how Kang becomes the Beyonder. Was probably shrunk down small enough to even slip through the fabric of the quantum realm. Beyond verse is well, beyond that.

When we left the movies a friend said they didn't understand why Loki was terrified of the Kangs. I told him I believe when Loki saw the infinity stones being used as paper weights by the TVA it had really had an impact on him and his thoughts of what Power is. And with a Kang being the head of the TVA, his power could not be denied.

Totally agree, after watching ant-man I’m convinced he who remains & kang are one and the same. He told us in Loki he went by different names, conquerer being one of them. He played out the end numerous times & nothing worked except for the TVA, kang himself says he wants to skip to the end, like being at the end of time citadel.

I’m glad you mentioned Quantumania’s Kang and he who remains being the same person. I thought that and then felt solid about it when in the movie Kang holds up the hologram of the one timeline in a circle saying, “he knows how this ends” in addition to quoting he who remains by saying his variants are worse than him. Plus it would make sense the council of kangs who love to branch timelines would exile the one Kang who wants to create a solid timeline that “prunes” branching timelines.
