I remember in computer programming class in the early 90’s they had us learning Pascal on old 8086 machines. They had us sort a list of 32k numbers, and everyone came up with bubble sort, which took SEVERAL seconds, maybe like 20 seconds or so on these slow ass machines. The next day we all presented our algorithms and then he showed us his, which sorted the same list but in a fraction of a second on the same hardware. Our minds were blown. I took that code home with me to try it out on my 386. Both algorithms were done in a fraction of a second 😂
