Can Syriza’s Use of ‘Soft Power’ Be Reconciled with the Values of the Radical Left?

Costas Douzinas, the Syriza MP who chairs the Greek Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, defends Syriza’s efforts to act as an ‘honest broker’ in international affairs

Syriza has maintained, if not actually strengthened, the collaboration between Greek and Israeli armed forces. So Greece/Syriza is not acting neutral between Israel and Palestine. Also Israel is hardly an agent of peace in the region, therefore Douzinas's talk of this being about security etc. is laughable.

roghly 33 minutes of a typical boring lecturer or someone on a soap box spinning well how Syriza is doing. I can't take Tspiras seriously that he's a typical progressive on everything except Palestine, and to see him praise Trump, Bibi Netanyahu, and to have thrown his country under the bus the way he did and implementing the shock doctrine on all except NATO...unforgiveable. you can blame and I do blame many external factors for what happened but for him to have crumbled how he did and not threaten Grexit and how he's thrown climate change and so fourth under the bus is astounding.

Douzinas is a very poor speaker and syriza's political choices do not help.
