Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Comic-Con 2015 Reel

Fans at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H were treated to a special look behind the scenes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens by director J.J. Abrams, producer and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and writer Lawrence Kasdan. The filmmakers were joined on stage by cast members Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to the surprise and delight of fans.

At the end of the Hall H presentation, the entire Hall H audience of more than 6,000 fans were all invited to continue the celebration and join cast and filmmakers at a surprise Star Wars Fan Concert. The San Diego Symphony performed the classic Star Wars music from John Williams at the Embarcadero Marina Park South.

I come back here every now and then, just to remember... The birth of my Star Wars. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi will forever be the Star Wars I grew up on and loved so deeply in my heart. I'll never forget how it felt, in the weeks, months, even years, leading up to this cinematic event. A masterpiece in my opinion. It feels like home. When I watch this, along with the movies themselves, it feels like I'm home again. Nothing can ever take that away from me.

That final shot of Daisy and Harrison climbing into the Falcon's cockpit, with JJ looking on with a visible mixture of awe and pride and nervous responsibility, while Boyega says "Star Wars is an important part of everyone's history..." -- that is a powerful thing to watch. Beautiful.
