I have both the ROG Ally X and the Lenovo Legion Go. I was in a difficult position due to finances, trying to decide whether to keep the Ally X or sell the Legion Go. Ultimately, I am returning the Ally X because the screen quality and input latency of the Legion Go are significantly better. The dead zones on the ROG Ally X make it frustrating to aim precisely in a game like Resident Evil 3. The controls on the Legion Go feel more comfortable, and it's much easier to enjoy games without having to hold the screen close to my face. For me, it’s definitely the Legion Go all day.

3:54 no no, its not lazy, theres several reasons for it but they're all connected to the main reason (imo)
Recycling tech. They probably weren't selling whatever tablet had the screen, and they knew the handlheld gaming market had a spark, so they dipped their hand in the market and even got creative tbh. I think this also allowed them to put a super good screen for a much lower price. This is also good for the environment.

I was playing Elden Ring last night...in bed and on the toilet.

It look great and ran around 45-58 fps on high settings.

I'm older so this is mind blowing. I'm super impressed

I'm well over a year on mine. It's my daily device. I love it. If I could pick any non performance related upgrade is making the screen even bigger. Aiming at more a table top device than handheld. Having detachable controllers that connect into a full size controller. Similar to switch, pop them into a plastic controller. That also makes the pc side of the device even better. For lots, no need for a second screen.

Great points all around for the Legion Go! Don’t forget that the Go’s built in speakers are a bit underwhelming compared to the Asus ROG Ally X since it fires up and not towards the player. I’m excited for the next version of the Go when it’s announced next month for CES and with an OLED display and hopefully better internals and more comfy controllers, it’s gonna be an awesome upgrade!

It's funny how Lenovo is indirectly showcasing us how the New magnetic Switch controllers will function.

Love my Legion Go for the screen. Bought 7" handheld (sd oled) that thing too small for my eyes. All Old head gamers will appreciate the screen, versatility & performance of Legion

The intro! I just got mine yesterday.

Pros: Screens a joy, the hardware is definitely incredible (hoping one day AMD develops a chipset specifically for handhelds). Detachable controllers are cool for casual games/platformers. I did have to tweak it quite a bit while using windows to get games to work and the fact that it's a windows device means your tablet/handheld experience will always be a little cumbersome. After switching over to Bazzite a lot of those gripes went away.

Conts: Battery Life and Fan is damn near terrible if you play anything close to AAA. Grips could be better (not bad, just not great)

Very cool review, thanks! I have GPD Win 4 for retro gaming and where small screen and keyboard are relevant, getting the Lenovo Go as a new year present fit the ultimate combo. :)

8 watt gaming is the key. I get 4+ hours of gameplay on tons of older games. Also fps mode should be called crpg or mmo mode.
