Gartner's Predictions for GenAI in 2025

As per Gartner, by 2025, growth in 90% of enterprise deployments of GenAI will slow down as costs exceed value. Fast forward to 2028, more than 50% of the enterprises that have built large AI models from scratch will abandon their efforts due to cost, complexities, and technical debt.

So if you are a startup or an ISV that is considering investing on GenAI or LLMs due to the recent hype, perhaps it is a good idea to revisit aspects like availability of data, technical expertise, infrastructure, and clarity on return on investments.
