The Amsivari - Rome's unpaid mercenaries!

The Amsivari were a Germanic tribe that lived in the northwest of what is now Germany. During the Germanic Wars they were divided into a pre-Roman and pro-Arminian part. The war weakened them and they were displaced by other Germanic tribes. Although their prince Bojocalus had served the Romans for half a century, they denied him land.
