How to Connect Any Portable TV to the Internet - Dumb Portable TV to Smart TV

@WaybackRewind - Convert a dumb portable TV to a completely portable smart TV. Takes a little more effort to do it wirelessly but it can be done. I demonstrate connecting portable TVs to three different streaming devices using three different methods using 4 different portable TVs.

Thanks for this! I snagged a working portable tv at a thrift shop today completely set on figuring a way to use it to display my moving business logo on my table since the current sticker shows my logo on a fuzzy old tv screen. Tyler TV's work great. Not the greatest picture but very functional and useful for watching TV broadcasts in a small area. I have a 9" and it works excellent.

Thank you! Quick question please, the second small TV you used with the Roku you used a 3.5mm to coax adapter. If I plugged in an external flat antenna like a mohu, and then scanned the tv for channels would it pick up the over the air channels?

It's possible to use the TVs antenna with the center wire of a coax cable wire from a VCR or other device and the TV tuned to channel 3 (or 4 if it can be set that way) but the picture is snowy.

I connected a Roku to an rf modulator then added amplifiers and an antenna so now all tvs can tune into Roku on channel 9 from anywhere around the house as a normal analog tv.

You kids don't know how easy you got it. I had to connect to a BBS with a 2400 baud modem! If anyone picked up the phone in the kitchen, the modem would hang and I'd get disconnected and lose my place in MMUD.

My handheld turns on. All fuzzy and antenna so I can’t carry it around, no use for it.. I really DID Like it. It was a color TV.. Thanks for the info..

Do you check e - waste dumpsters for parts or intact electronics? Found a tossed out Casio portable (pocket) TV 470. It has the Ext Ant port. Could a DVD signal be used instead of the Chrome Cast device? Or a PC? Thank you

Ive got a bluetooth FM transmitter for my car. Maybe something like that exists for television frequenties? So it could be wirelessly transmitted?
