I just want to let you know my son is in one of the elite art schools in the world and comes here to learn. Thank you for keeping him sane.

Nice...finally a channel that doesn't dwell on "look what I can do" but says "Here's what we can do". Thank you so much! Refreshing!

Something about “I don’t know, I drew these 5 years ago.” Just motivated me heavily.

There are a couple students in a weekly figure drawing class that I take whose drawings have this sort of hyperrealistic textured quality to them, and I was completely bamboozled as to how they do it. While charcoal obviously differs in key ways from graphite, I am still glad I stumbled across this video, and I'll definitely try to establish a more robust foundation for my shading next time I'm in the studio. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

I would love to see how you texture clothing. Cotton shirts, Jeans, sweaters, latex etc.
I would also love to see how you approach these textures traditionally vs digitally.

Great video! I don't see many that focus on creating textures from scratch!

I've been teaching this method to my students for months now (They are all older, retired folks) and I've been trying to get through to them on how to hold their pencils, both tripod and overhand, as well as filling spaces with layers of values in different directions, and scumbling (small circles) to create textures. They're slowly improving with their basic forms, but it's time for me to get back into MY passion...Creatures!!!

this is one of those times where i subscribe to a channel not because i think it deserves it, but because im compromising for not paying to see such high quality content.

I don’t usually watch art tutorials but I watched this all the way through and somehow made the best drawing I’ve ever done, thanks!

Thank you so much for your channel and your thorough instructions. I’m at a technical college learning animation, but the program is more so focused on us getting familiar with using the digital art programs and animating, but we don’t really touch on “art fundamentals” so I’ve been looking online as much as I can to kinda fill in that gap and I just want to say that I can’t thank you enough for not only explaining you’re technique but WHY you do the technique and HOW your technique compares to what a lot of beginners do (the part of the video where you explain how to shade by keeping the lines close together versus the cross hatching thing beginners and myself included do)

Goodness, I feel so blessed to have stumbled upon your video! I'm a (really) bloody rookie, but I LOVE creature design and your tutorial is so full of valuable information and depth that it makes me just want to pick up my pencil and practice. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us! It means so much in times where a lot of art videos are just about the artists and showing off finished work and not about how it's done. Your art is incredible and I can't wait to see more of your content!

I'd like to see you how you texture water, seas, waves, ponds, lakes, all that jazz. I find it extremely difficult to make it look realistic, especially 'moving' water

It is astonishing what can be done, with a simple and inexpensive pencil and a piece of paper.

Can you show us a video on how light affects texturing and shadowing ? Also loved your passion towards drawing and how you respect it. Great explanation.❤

I dont know why, but it felt so cozy while i was watching your video 😊. The way you explain texturing process and talk about animals with such soothing voice is kinda warming.

I learn a great deal from this channel, so thanks a lot for these lessons.
Not just with pencil strokes but digital sketching with strokes has been a bit of my weakness.
