How to sew elastic at the armholes/Πως ράβω λάστιχο στις μασχάλες

This video presents how to finish the armhole edges of a sleeveless blouse or dress with elastic. This is a very nice method especially when there is not enough fabric in order to make facing.

Clean the armhole edge (surger or zigzag stitch)
Καθαρίζω τις άκρες της μασχάλης (κοπτοράπτης ή ραφή ζιγκ ζαγκ)

Turn the blouse with the wrong side up and measure the armhole length
Γυρίζω τη μπλούζα με τη μέσα μεριά επάνω και μετράω το μήκος της μασχάλης

The total length of the armhole is 47cm
Cut a piece of elastic with the same length
Το ολικό μήκος της μασχάλης είναι 47cm
Κόβω ένα κομμάτι λάστιχο ίδιου μήκους

Pin the elastic on the armhole
Καρφιτσώνω το λάστιχο στη μασχάλη

This is the midpoint of the elastic
Αυτό είναι το μέσο του λάστιχου

Pin it on the shoulder seam
Το καρφιτσώσω στη ραφή του ώμου

The zigzag stitches do not cover the width of the elastic
Το γαζί ζιγκ ζαγκ δεν καλύπτει όλο το πλάτος του λάστιχου
