Slime Rancher 2 - Part 3

You've set up at least 2 Corrals now. You've also unlocked all of Rainbow Fields. Now it's time to start making some bank. In this post, I'll show you the fastest way to make lots of money early in the game for Slime Rancher 2. Before getting started you should already have set up 2 corrals, one with every possible addition and one with everything except for the Solar Shields. This will allow us to combine all the Slimes available in the first section of the map in the least amount of room while still providing twice as much money in the same amount of time.

In order to get this done, we'll be doing this with the help of 3 different in-game features. These are Corrals, Largos, and Favorite Foods. As I already mentioned, you should already have your two corrals all set up. If not, click here to check out how corrals work and the way I've set mine up.

Next is Largo Slimes. Largo Slimes are created by having a Slime of one species eat the plort of a different species (keep in mind, once you have created your Largo Slimes, NEVER allow them to eat any other kind of plort or they will turn into Tar Slimes. You DO NOT WANT THAT!). The first kind of Largo we will create is a Cotton Pink Largo Slime. You can do this by either feeding a Cotton Plort to a Pink Slime or by feeding a Pink Plort to a Cotton Slime. You can find both Cotton Slimes and Pink Slimes in the first section of Rainbow Fields. Collect a few of these and place them into the corral that doesn't have the Solar Shield. I usually try to keep between 8 - 10 Largo Slimes in each corral. Next, we will be creating Phosphor Tabby Largo Slimes. These are made by either feeding a Tabby Plort to a Phosphor Slime or by feeding a Phosphor Plort to a Tabby Slime. Tabby slimes can be found on the second half of Rainbow Fields and Phosphor Slimes will only be found at night since they are nocturnal Slimes. Be sure to place Phosphor Tabby Largo Slimes in the corral that has the Solar Shield equipped with it. If you don't once the sun comes up.... your slimes will die. AND IT WILL BE ALL YOUR FAULT!

Okay, so now we have the corrals all set up and we've started adding the right kind of Largos to each pen. The next thing we need to do is find two Favorite Foods. If you didn't already know, each Slime has one food item that it absolutely loves to eat. If you feed a specific item to a certain type of Slime it will produce twice as many plorts. Because we only have Largos in our corrals we only need to find two food items because since they are a combination of two Slimes, they only need to be fed the favorite food of one of the Slimes in the combination. Additionally, Largo Simes always produces two plorts because they are two different slimes in one. So If you feed them their favorite foods they will produce four plorts instead making it much easier to collect plorts and money.

The First food we will be going after is Cuberrys. These can be found by once again heading out of the conservatory in a straight line until you see the happy slime stone. Once there, follow the right wall until you come to the end of it. Look over the edge, there should be more land beneath you. Drop down and look up behind you, there will be a Cuberry Bush attached to the stone wall. Cuberrys are a Phosphor Slime's favorite food, so you'll be feeding those to our Phosphor Tabby Largo Slimes. Don't feed them just yet because both foods we are searching for a hard to come by. Next, we will be on the lookout for Water Lettuce. After getting the Cuberrys turn right and follow the path. Once the path curves, hug the right wall and you'll end up passing under an archway. Staying on the right wall follow it until you come across the Water Lettuce. Water Lettuce is a Cotton Slime's favorite food so we will be feeding Watter Lettuce to our Cotton Pink Largo Slimes.

Before we feed our newly found foods to the slimes it might be best to set up a garden for each, that way you don't constantly have to be on the lookout for them. Upgrading your garden with good soil and sprinkler systems will allow you to grow more fruits and veggies and grow them more quickly, so get those gardens set up.

Finally, feed each set of Largo Slimes the foods they crave and be ready for plenty of plorts and lots of money. You can even cheese the system and simply sleep till morning each day. When you wake up your crops should be fully grown and your slimes will be hungry so you can just feed them collect all the plorts, trade them in for money then rinse and repeat. This is also a good way to get your refinery stocked up so that you can start working on new upgrades, which you can check out in my next post here.
