Hey man I would recommend washing the set with some dish soap. Just completely take it apart to remove all the dust. It’s time consuming but trust me it will pay off.

Brittle defective red? Or is this before that. I would really like to know. FYI lego will replace parts that are brittle even if they are not broken (if one color in the set is brittle, write and get everything still in production part wise replaced.)
