1..caste is determined by birth, the person which whom in what caste treated as per caste status whether he or she deserve or not .
2..in caste marriage was restricted which means person marriage will be endogamy it means marriage will be happened in the same caste.
3..food rule also there for caste to person what type of food will be eated like brahman restricted to eat non veg where shudras caste can eat it.
4..there is hiearchial division between the caste it means that this caste is treated as high or low.
5..there is also sub division in caste .for example in brahman mishra, sharma, bhardwaj etc.
