DIY how to install Vinyl floor, in this installation over tile for this home renovation. How to install Pergo rigid vinyl plank flooring. Milk Toast is the name of this color of this vinyl floor. You have to love this name and you won't be disappointed with the way it looks either. This is actually Part 3 in this series with the fist video showing us doing some amazing floor leveling and the second video being a preview of the job. Before you buy or install this product watch as I give you a few of the tricks that worked for us as we installed 3000 square feet in this house for one of our clients. This floor takes a little longer to install and not all the boards are usable. Watch and find out why. Oscillating tool would probably work fine! BUT NOT if you are gonna use it daily as an installer!! It WILL probably fall apart with HEAVY use! lol

The separating tip is appreciated. I only saw others separating them out on the floor and I was thinking, I just don't have the room. Doing the separating standing up was what I needed to see.

Slide, wiggle, bump and lower, mallet. Slide - stops when it hits the next piece under trim. Mallet down? It's not connected. Are you supposed to chip out the inside corner of grooving from the piece you are abutting, so it slides in at an overhang?

I recently installed Pergo Extreme Wider Longer in Brunette. 10x72. They’re a cut above the rest. They look like real wood and even have the texture. My boxes already came kind of presorted light and dark it seems.

We installed this floor about 2500sq ft as first time DIYers on floor. I wouldn't recommend for someone without some DIY knowledge. So the broken corners were a problem for us also. I'd put defective boards aside and then cut off defective part and use it on the end or closet. Also the locking joints were fragile. I think I could snap it off with my hand. And had to check the ridge in each board for defects or they wouldn't lock together. Some boards had like excess material in ridge. Floor looked great when installed. However I wouldn't use again. I think we could have returned a full box of boards but not one single one. Our last cuts were on a curved wall that really tested all of our DIY skills and we didn't end up with many extra boards lol.

We are installing the marble look Pergo. The tiles are 18 x 36. WE are halfway done, and I'm ready to give up. The joints are so hard. We can't just hammer it down the way he is showing. I figured out the wiggle yesterday. That helped but you have to wiggle the corners into each other at the same time.

I think we have decided to install this, about 900 sf. Can you return defective boards? This stuff is expensive to be stuck with defects. Great video.

He’s right. You should pre-sort a number of boards for the various colors, and if it’s wood, for the various lengths too. It makes life so much simpler in the long run.
