I agree, IC have not been hitting with the book picks. Luckily their skip policy is pretty good so I’ve kept it and just bought the handful of boxes that have appealed this year. It’s a shame because they do a good job with designs and items.

I hear you on the book boxes getting expensive. Lately I haven't loved the book choices so I'm like... should I cancel? I will be so upset if I do and then see a book that I really want though and then they are sold for a ridiculous amount on Mercari, Pango or eBay. The only book I got from that haul is the Owlcrate book, but my BOTM was The Dagger and the Flame. It has the original cover and blah hardcover of course which is a bummer though. I'm really spoiled with special editions. I think I'm going to try and stick it out until after January in case one of the companies I get boxes for comes out with a book I really want but after that I think I will be getting rid of a few. Too Bee Read has been annoying me with how late the boxes are. I got the August box on the last day of Sept. Really... Their magical boxes were never on time either. I get when some products take a bit longer but it's every box. So I might dump them and if they happen to have an item I like I will just get it off the website.

The only month Illumicrate does do an exclusive redesigned cover (which everyone's been complaining that they haven't been doing) and I wasn't a fan of the dust jacket art either... would've preferred it to just have been a colour way switch of the original UK cover.

You inspired me to cancel Illumicrate after your Illumicrate catch-up vlog! The picks have not been good and I have too many items. I cancelled Fairyloot earlier this year but still have the adult book only.

Owlcrate is going paperless so we won't be getting booklets or spoiler cards anymore you have to scan the qr code on the box to see the spoilers and other info

The candle from the YA owl crate box smells so good dude I was shocked 😭 I’m gonna try to replicate it at some point.

Also- I’m re-binding Cruel Prince. Should I make the cover grey, light blue, or other?

I wish I didn’t hate vampire books because that first big book looks lovely and I love LGBT+ stories. All the items from the boxes looked really nice this month, too. And I liked the designs of all of the books, for the most part.

I can't get any subscription boxes because they're too expensive but watching unboxings are a really good way to pretend that I can afford them haha. I just found your channel and I'm excited to watch :3
Personally, I love scented candles and/or bookish candles, what a shame that you have allergies for them :(

A NINO AND HARUKA CANDLE FROM LORE&LUST? Ugh, I love him so much xD I still need read the second books, whoopsy. I swear, I'll read them soon *she said like a liar* AND EXCUSE ME??? That edition of Lore & Lust is so georgeous. I want it so bad omg. I would take it to work and say that it's a special ediition bible because the sizes honestly could match xD The art in the book is so amazing ;-; I wish I could just teleport the book into my posession.

I am with you about candles! Anything musky or floral makes my nose itch unbearably. Citris and sweets (vanilla, caramel, cakes) are okay. I think it's some chemical that is in floral scents that I'm allergic to.

Owlcrate has decided to get rid of spoiler cards/the little booklet. Not a fan of this as I keep it for the artwork. :( There is a QR code on the inside of the box, but it is not well marked that it's for the spoiler card. They also didn't announce it anywhere other than Insta stories, so it disappeared and if you didn't see it, oh well.

Love the edges of their book this month. I just lost my orange kitty at the beginning of Sept. so it reminds me of him. I also love the almost glittery foiling on the waves of it.

I did not like A Dark And Drowning Tide cover, either. Just not my personal style. The original is so much better.

I loved lore and lust, but skipped on this special edition. I absolutely love the original covers. I will say, the novels are great, the novella was terrible.
